I'm currently resto, but as you know we can't solo for goblin dung. I was wondering what the best solo spec is for shaman. Is it still enhance? I'd love it to be elemental as I wouldn't need to get much different gear.

I'm resto and am going to simply tweak my build for pvp.
I'll have my raid build and my arena build . . . but both will be resto.

I usually have no issues soloing as resto (at least not at 80). But for dual spec purposes, I'll be having resto/elem builds saved. It just makes it a whole lot easier to keep almost the same gear and whatnot. Though it would be nice to try out enhance again since I haven't been enhancement since 60.

You're still going to want different gear when switching from Elemental to Resto. I replace all but maybe two or three items, and that's only because I don't have anything better to throw into those slots.
In any case, there's not much difference between Elemental and Enhancement while soloing. If you absolutely have to have the best of the best, then go Enhancement, but Elemental is perfectly capable at anything and everything that might be required of a soloing spec.
any spec can solo. just takes a little longer as resto.
That said, go elemental. I think with the free talent reset I'm going elemental. As I no longer have time to heal instances, it's kind of pointless being resto lol. It's just I've been resto so long, it's all I know. I'd be lost in elemental talent trees. i'll have to research it, and I'm too lazy to do so. Resto talents I know like the back of my hand.

Well, thanks to the current DE matts inflation, I was able to buy dual specc on both my paladin and my shammy. On my shammy I went resto and enhancement. Sure, the gear is not as "similar" as elemental/resto, but on the other hand I did my dailies on my shammy (as enhancement) today and it was just too bloody sweet running to the mobs and giving them hell ... Mobs dropping before coffee is ready? Madness!!!!
