I play WoW to play the game. That is, I play not to rush to level or riches, but generally speaking, to quest and see the world. To my way of thinking, it's like taking a trip, you can go by the scenic route and take your time or you can "get there" by the fastest means possible, if the point of going somewhere is simply to arrive at a destination, there's nothing wrong with freeways, interstates, and turnpikes. But, to me, since I play to enjoy the entire ride, which sometimes means learning things by trial and error, I may not make the wisest choices. But even on a road trip, I am certainly not adverse to using a map or asking directions. I just don't have the time to comb every board to find out every tweak.

I want to level my characters, don't get me wrong, but I do enjoy trying to get there with the ammount of time spent reaching endgame content unimportant. The trip is the thing, to me. Not to say that speed leveling is bad or that someone else's reasons to play are wrong, since everyone's path is different, based on different reasons they have individually for playing. I work a lot of hours and life's intrusions into my playing time are many, so I get to play a few hours here and there. I've enjoyed most quests, but I do admit that low drop rates and some quests of a given level being a lot harder than others of the same level do get frustrating, but it's fun, to me, to find a way that whatever toon I'm playing can accomplish the goal with their own unique class abilities.

All that being said, I'd love some comments on my druid build from the many more experienced and knowlegable players here.

Thanks for your time.

Your build is a little off, which may be leading to you having more trouble doing quests at your current level compared to those with a pure spec.

Since you put more points into feral and most of your gear looks to be gearing that way, here is what a feral build can look like at your level. Several points are up to your discretion, but the most important thing is that you get down to mangle. It's the bread and butter of a feral build and will increase your ability to down mobs by a huge amount.

Feral Build

For this build you will be looking for gear that has stats in this order Agility > Strength > Attack power > Crit > Stamina

You will kill mobs by Faerie Fire on the way in, Mangle until dead. Most mobs will only last a few hits if your gear is anywhere close to your level.

A lot of your gear is very, very low for your level. You most definitely should have replaced them already. I don't want to seem harsh, but wearing a level 20 neckpiece at level 55 is generally unacceptable. There is no way you couldn't have found a better piece either through a random drop, or through a quest reward.

If you want to go Boomkin, here is a good leveling spec

Balance build

For this build, you will be looking for gear that has stats in this order Spellpower > Intellect > Spirit > Crit Rating > Stamina (Until you reach outlands, you will not see many pieces with Hit Rating. When you do start seeing them, the addition is marginal until endgame when/if you do heroics/raiding)

Overall, if someone saw you out running around doing level 55 quests in the gear you have now, they would most likely assume that you bought the account off E-bay. With that said, I respect everyone's individual way to reach the final destination. Glad you came here to help, I'm afraid Outlands would have been brutal for you if you had not come here for information to upgrade your gear/spec before then.

Good luck and happy hunting.

To be honest it's kind of hard to comment on your build because you have spend your points into all three trees. It would be better to choose one spec to concentrate on. What play style are you using to quest? Are you doing your questing as a Cat or are you mainly casting Wrath and Moonfire. As you are spec'd right now you are not stong in anything. My suggestion would be to choose between Casting and Melee and put the points in the Balance or Feral tree to reflect that choice.

I was spending points, at first, to try to have an "all around" character. But I find I am now playing purely feral and mostly in cat form, which I love, bear form I haven't done much with, therefore haven't gotten even "good" at it.)

I find the low threat level of FF to be nice for pulling, also.

I haven't had anything drop that I thought was better, but I'm going to hit the armory to look for upgrades and specifically quest/hunt for some better gear. Sometimes you get so caught up in quest chains and so on that you don't go back and look at your gear often enough, I guess. I forgot how long ago it was I picked up a lot of it. I do check, when I get a drop, to see how it compares with what I'm wearing, but I guess I haven't had much neckwear dropped. Perhaps quest for the Tie of the Used Car Salesman.... LOL...

I think I'll have to pay to respec and hunt up better gear. I pretty much play a stealthy kitty and solo.

Thanks for the replies.

I didn't look at your gear, but if you know a leatherworker maybe they can make you some upgrades. Or a jewelcrafter for ring and necklace upgrades. Just a thought.

If you do go Feral, I would say that gear is only mildly important.

If you focus on Str/Agi and a bit of Stam, you should be doing fine even if some of your gear falls behind. Feral forms have a base damage output that you'll get regardless of your gear which sorta makes us the strongest class while naked (yay!). Anyway, what I mean to say is that upgrades are nice and you might wanna hit up the AH every one in a while, but don't stress it too much.

Fixing your talents will probably solve most of your current problems.

I would suggest a slightly different build from what Galen posted.

Shredding Attacks -> Brutal Impact, cause you'll never Shred while solo. A longer emergency stun or opener on an elite is overall more useful while leveling.

Thick Hide dropped cause I never really thought it worthwhile for leveling. Also dropping Survival Instincts cause I never had it for leveling and didn't really struggle, though it could be nice, especially for a single point.

Took Predatory Strikes and 1 point of Infected Wounds cause bigger crits is good and preventing mobs from running away is nice too (though you could use the Rake glyph for the same effect).

And no one would ever know unless they inspect us because when in form we're naked anyway :)
