I'm using 0/41/30 on my lock atm but I am still playing with it to find ways to maximize his dps better.

Since wotlk came I was 0/41/30 and just recently I went 56/0/15,can say my dps only went higher.
There was a lock 0/40/31 and his dps was insane,he rocked recount and i blame it all on decimate =P

it is almost all due to decimate :P the other half is how well the felguard scales with raid buffs :), ~1k DPS pet FTW, it should be making up 15-20% of your damage. hehe

i've recently respec'd affliction, gonna test it out tonight, just want a change, also the upcoming nerfs of next patch is making affliction look more appealing.

not noticing any real difference between 0/41/30 and 53/0/18 (or whatever i'm spec'd as, lol effort to check right now). i do prefer affliction, such less hassel in terms of worrying about taking damage, but it's definately less mana efficient. like the EJ forums say, they're both very similar in terms of damage and tbh, with the upcoming changes i'm pretty certain they'll be near dead equal next patch. in the end it's about your play style... on bosses where you know your pet will probably die, affliction wins, on others it's to close to tell and the differences are dependant on how much movement is needed... gotta say i really am missing having felconc/cataclysm... will respec my affliction spec soon to have them.. honestly i don't know how anyone can stand the spell pushback.... to many fights have boss aoe and to much of it affects your spell casts for you to not NEED the 70% reduction to it to maximise your dps in my opinion...

Something i use in PVP is to use rank 1 shadowbolt due to its serious short cast time to set off decimation. Just wondering how this would factor in for a raid? Would it be worthwhile to alternate rank 1 SB to set off Decimation, the way i see u could get twice as many (very rough, bad maths used) soulfires?? Obviously if you have Haste stacked very high like a lot of end game raiders then it won't work i don't think, because of the GCD and there would be time where ure actually just waiting around doing nothing. Don't flame if its a **** idea but in PVP it has its uses so just checking if it could help once the boss hits 34%. And if people are gemming / enchanting haste maybe they could switch to SP / Crit after they hit capped to allow this to work better??

it's not worth it as rank.1 shadowbolt costs more mana than the maximum rank, 'tis a complete waste both in time and in mana... it'll also be a MASSIVE dps decrease
