Hunters in ArenaFollow

My wife and I both play hunters. Usually we do heroics and raid when possible. With dual spec coming, I was thinking about talking her into building a PvP spec and the two of us do arena fights together. From what I have read, two hunters aren't a really strong team, however being at the top of the ratings isn't our goal... Just something different for us to do besides raids and farming. My question to the community is, what are some of the techniques that you would try to use to be as successful as two hunters hope to be. My ideas was for both of us to be survival for the wyvern sting and take turns putting the healer to sleep or one of us go Marks and use silencing shot on healer after wyvern sting. Also we would make sure to tame pets that have some type of cc ability. Thanks in advance for any advice.

P.S. Before I hear anything about getting a different partner or one of us leveling different types of toons, this is something i want to do with my wife and we are leveling other toons but these are our only 80's atm.

It's fairly simple but as hunter/hunter you wont do well.
It is possible to do decent I guess but you will have to be flawless in your communication and CC.
(and by flawless I really mean flawless and ridiculously skilled)

Best thing to do is just go out and do BG's together for a while.
And level up a Paladin and/or shaman as hunter/Hpal or hunter/Rshaman are strong teams.

Like I said in the P.S... we do have several characters in the works, most of them in the level ranges of 60-70. Main reason I am willing to try this with my wife is to give us both an idea of how to handle ourselves in an arena setting. Once we have the other characters leveled, and learn the abilities as well as we know our hunters, then we can start to change up the team makeup.

Play BG's, a lot of them. And WG too.
You'll need the honour (save it for 3.1) and it'll get you some PvP experience.
BG's and WG are a lot more forgiving, and you need the experience and gear to do anything but get slaughtered in arena.

If you are going to be hunter/hunter

It is imperative that you go either MM/SV or MM/BM.

Those two combinations work well with one another. I've had very little to no luck with the SV/BM combination. Personally, I like forming 2's with MM sub spec SV hunters than I do with BM sub spec MM hunters. Success in arena is much more than your toon though, it's knowing how to deal with all kinds of different classes and specs that are unique to Arena.

I mean no where, and I do mean no where, will you have to fight an Orc Death Knight with Blood Fury outside of Arena and Dueling. My suggestion to you would be for you two to switch specs back and forth and see which combination works best.
