apparently, research =/= skill for me :(Follow

I've been having the darnedest time trying to make my locklette viable at 80.

Her gear is nothing special. Pretty standard stuff for a fresh 80. I'm trying to do enough WG's to get the Flow of Knowledge.

I copied her spec from the Destro thread on the EJ forums. I leveled all the way up as Affliction, so I'm not all that comfortable with the spec yet, but I read up on spell priorities. I keep CoA up for the Molten Core procs, and cast Chaos Bolt every time the cooldown is up. I put on Incinerate and spam Immolate until I Conflagrate when the dot's about to expire. Then I cast CB if it's up, and Soul Fire otherwise. Rinse and Repeat.

But my dps is puny. I'm lucky to break 2k in a 25 man Vault, and tonight I barely scraped 1k in a Halls of Lightening run. For a while I blamed my guildies for killing stuff too quickly, but tonight none of the dps was that great. The best topped out at 1600. So the mobs took a while to die.

I'm not sure where to go from here. I'd love to get better gear, but I don't want to inflict my miserable damage on people while I do it.
