Some noob-ish gear questionsFollow

My DK is lvl 68. I've been taking my SLOW sweet time with her due to some **** retentive desire to be thorough in my questing starting from the very beginning and working my way up. So I already have my Ambassador achievement for being exalted with all five races. I also have Loremaster of EK and Kalimdor, and I'm exalted with Argent Dawn, Cenarion Circle and Timbermaw and revered with all four Steamwheedle Cartel factions. About the only old world stuff I haven't done yet are instances which I can't solo (or which are obnoxious and annoying even if I can solo them--Gnomergan, I'm looking at YOU) because most of the time when circumstances allow me to commit to a group I play my lvl 80 main and do heroics and raids.

So...because of all this, at lvl 68 I am just starting to quest in Outlands. Since I exhausted her rest XP farming CC rep, I'm resting up and working up a few Outlands reps before I begin questing in order to maximize the amount of rep I can gain. I'm a few hundred points away from exalted with Scryers courtesy of all the Sunfury Insignia my main collected while doing Shattered Sun dailies months and months ago, I'm already honored with Sha'tar and Cenarion Expedition, and while she's resting I'm collecting Arrokoa feathers to get her to honored with Lower City. After she's rested I'll farm kill rep in Hellfire Peninsula until honored with HH, then I'll begin questing again.

What's the point of all this, you ask? Well, because I've been focusing on content much lower level than myself to date, I haven't had to worry about gear thus far. I had a smith friend make me some fel iron and adamantite gear when I got into my 60s, but aside from that, I'm actually still wearing a great deal of the stuff acquired through the DK newbie quests.

I've never played a plate-wearer before, and as I'm steadily approaching content closer to my level, I'd like to be geared to be able to quest and level effectively. I know that I'm intending to be spec'ced DPS until I hit 80, so I know what stats I need to look for. I had my smith friend make me some Ragesteel gear for when I hit 70, but that's only chest, head, shoulders and gloves. Because the gear is simply for leveling up and I won't really be focusing on any group content until lvl 80, I don't want to have to invest too much time or money into getting it, so I'm shooting for mostly rep-gained or crafted gear (my main mines so I have ore out the wazoo.)

TL;DR, I know. Short version: I'm looking for recommendations for pretty much everything except head, chest, shoulders and hands that will take me well into my 70s.

My DK gear lasted me almost until 70.

You want +Str and +Sta, first and foremost for soloing. After that, go for Crit. Hit and Expertise are nice, but way less valuable before raiding.

Obviously, having armor as high as possible is a plus.

Really, quested gear is > crafted gear until 80. Quest rewards in NR are decent, and you will never feel like you need better gear to progress in levels. I'm using a level 68 axe still as an 80, because I'm grinding out Titansteel so as to make a Destroyer for myself and no better one came my way while leveling. And I got here fine (more deaths from annoying falls and failing to thrust the spear than from mobs...)

Oh, and before you bring your goblin reps any further, you may want to consider whether or not you want this achievement. It requires you to be honored with the Bloodsail buccaneers and exalted with the goblin factions AT THE SAME TIME.

Good frickin' GOD.

My main is an achievement ***** but holy hell I'm not sure I'd be willing to try that one even with her. I'm all for a little pain in the search of a good time, but that's a level of masochism I'm not sure I'm willing to approach. Though if I do, it will be with her and not my DK, since she's only honored with the Steamwheedle Cartel factions and hasn't done certain quests like the pirate ship quests in Arathi Highlands.

Thanks for the input!

To be fair it's only a feat of strength, so it's not like you'll miss out of achievement points if you do it.

In other news, I'm 24k/36k hated with all the goblin factions and slowly climbing to exalted, and my rogue for picking junkboxes for ravenholdt is level 44 :)

But that title is just too good...

I'm gonna level up a Rogue just to pickpocket for it.^^

And, you know, to have a Rogue in the 60s if they ever get useful again. -.-;;
