3.1 Pet NormalizationFollow

after reading through the 3.1 PTR notes and the patch notes direct from blizzard's main site i read that all pet family stat modifiers will be reduced to 5% for damage, health and armor. IMO i think it's kinda lame for blizzard to make all pets vanilla, now basicaly all pets do the same dmg, have the same health & armor... the only way to dissern between two pets is by there aestetics, skills and the way you spec your pets tallents. all in all i just think its lame that now a turtle does as much dps as a cat if there both under lvl 20. What are your ideas on what blizz is doing to the pets?

That's not pet normalization. You should've seen some of the pre-BC pet normalizations. THOSE were big.

I have to say i am pleased that all pets will be roughly the same except for talent spec , to me it will mean more variety about , not like now with gorillas being the one and only aoe tanking pet .

And in the past it was even worse with half the pets being next to useless as many will remember , now instead of just a few species being viable we have a great choice in what pet we take with us on our travels , do not knock this normalisation as many Hunters have been fighting for years to have this happen.

I for one want to try out the pets that are going to get the Thunderstomp ? now that should be amusing at the very least , and i guess gorillas from being forgotten about then to being the must haves will be only used by those that still love them , which is as it should be.

At the OP, use the [enter] button on your keyboard.
It's not just there for decoration.

At Sandra, you won't ever see much more variety than you have now.
There will always be something that makes 1 pet better than others and that something will be enough for most people to get said pet.
Like in 3.1, bears will be the best AoE tanks so people will go for a bear for soloing instances.

I have said this before, I would much rather see blizzard make pets "mini-toons" if they are going to do this. It used to make some sort of sense and realism for pets to have different starting stats. On the whole I agreed with where they put the pets. But to scale all pets down with the same baseline stats... I am not sure what they are thinking.

The three trees for pets, now that would be nice. Take one "essential" skill from the current 3 talent trees (like TS for Tenacity) and either make that a skill to level or attainable by any beast with "X" number of skill points in that tree. I would love to see that type of versatility for pets that what we now have. It would almost be a throwback to pet training points, but then if you really liked wolves you could have one for tanking, one for DPS, one for... utility? pvp? I don't know the third tree as it stands now is useless.

The customization of pets is cool and all but I am not a fan of it. I really liked the old system where you researched what pets had what skills (by random training) and decided what you needed. I really miss the days of camping Snarler for the resistances, or the Shadow Damage wolf....

Healing Pets! ...and stags, just because I've wanted one since level 20.
