Raid ready? Never touched a heroic....Follow

Ok, before you all beat me, please listen...errr read actually. I'm a casual player because I have a one year old and simply don't have time to put into a raid, or even many instances for that matter. In fact, I have never set foot in a heroic (TBC or WotLK). In a couple weekends, I am going to have 2....yes count them 2 nights of wife and baby out of the house.

I've always wanted to see a raid and I'm not looking for loot, although of course if something lands in my lap I'll take it. I just want to experience something different to me. I've done the best I could with gear and enchants without ever touching a heroic. I bought some things and rep grinded (ground??) some others. I think I've done pretty well on gear. (oh ya, I will have +16 agility on my boots by then)

I know how to play my class, watch the threat meters etc etc. For this 2 night ****** that I am going to try and explore, do you think I have a chance in hell to actually contribute to a raid? I've watched some videos on tankspot to get an idea of the fights, and plan to watch again as a refresher. Would it be better to try a 25 man, or 10 man? I was thinking in a 10 man, I would be more vital to the success/failure but in 25 man, there are more people to cover any mistakes.

Any other tips you feel like offering up so I don't live up to my name would be great. Here's my armory (also in my sig, but regardless)

You don't seem to be a idiot and your gear seems good. All enchanted and gemmed nice like also. From what I understand of hunters you could probably tighten up your spec. I don't know what the SV cookie is but I do know that one point is in BM.

I think the biggest problem you may have is dealing with those people that are idiots. I bet as a solo player you haven't had to deal with them a much as those of us that group a lot.

Hmm, you seem like you should do fine--don't expect to be topping the meters, since most other folks raiding will have much better gear and more experience, but so long as you go in having researched the fights and watched videos if possible, you'll do fine.

Something short and simple to start with before you do Naxx might be a good idea, to get a feel for your raid group--I know a bunch of guilds will sometimes to a quick OS or VoA beforehand to get people excited, if you can find a group that is planning that then good for you. :) Naxx is fairly easy if you know the fights, but it is longish, so don't expect to finish it in one night--even if you get all four wings a lot of people will probably be pretty tired and want to put off Sapphiron and KT for the next night.
