Why can't we all act like druids?Follow

im the reason why the druid forums are so damn good. i enforce tolerance and good will with an iron first. intolerance will not be tolerated. bad will is punished with singing and up-tempo jazz.

i also act as a role model for all the younger druids with my self-effacing modesty and rugged good looks. i bake a mean humble pie too (AND YOU WILL EAT IT AND YOU WILL LIKE IT OR I WILL CRUSH YOU).

my karma dropped back from rather long-time Sage to Scholar

i've only seen a handful of your posts... but your karma is determined by the number of rateups divided by your total number of posts. 50 rate-ups in your first 50 posts might be good enough for sage, but if you only get 50 more over your next 450 posts, it might not be. so you can lose sage without ever getting rated down.

also, b!tching about karma will get you rated down by people who care (i'm not one of them)

if you want sage back, post in the weekend goals/accomplishments threads. many a sage was made there who later went on to post epic failures in class or raid discussions.

I have found posting while drunk is a good way to get rated dow

They are incoherent rambling posts that barely make sense and when they do they are usually offensive.

I just can't help it though.

rofl... it's like rolling dice, when you log back in the morning after you never know if they'll be excellented or subdefaulted.

I'm a pretty new druid, but love the class and have benefited from the info posted on Allakhazam in a lot of instances (no pun intended). I've been thinking this for awhile, but this post seems the proper place to agree that the Druid forum is really a great place :-) Trust me, my main is a rogue and I spent a year perusing the rogue forums and it's...a little less forgiving. Thanks to you all for making Forum=6 the way that it is...

My RL job is a jazz musician-- how long will we have to bear this kind of intolerance? ;-)

That is, technically I got a degree in Jazz piano, but I have been playing more pop/singersongwriter and chansons than jazz over the last couple of years :)

On-topic: I didn't know about the rating-divided-by-postcount rule regarding titles&karma. In that case, more kudos to the people who're Sage or Guru with a high post count. It means your posts must be of constant quality, getting rate-ups on a constant basis :)

the rating rule is part of why some people, particularly those with higher post counts, dont really give a damn what they say or how people take what they say. when youve got 10k+ posts, its going to take at least a few hundred ratedowns on a single post in order to make your karma move anywhere.

Good for you! It's a tough business, so kudos to you for beating the odds (saxophonist here).

And so as not to have completely hijacked this thread, I think this just goes to show how many cool people play druids :-) In all seriousness, wow is my first entry into the gaming world, and not only do I love it but I'm constantly impressed with how many interesting people are behind the characters (obviously there are exceptions:-)) Finding these forums has been such a help as well, and I think it's great that people put so much thought and analysis into excelling...I think that's even more true with a slightly more complex, hybrid class, whether by necessity or natural selection, I don't know :-) But the advice and ideas from this community has helped me to add a new layer to the game...

More threads like this and I may be tempted to reactivate my WoW account. This little corner of the MMO fourmspace is actually pleasant, positive, and constructive. Which is damned hard to find, in this game or any other.

That, and if my boss continues giving me more work and less pay, I may find myself with an abundance of free time to start raiding again. I wonder if I can find a raiding guild that raids 11:00 to 3 or 4:00 pm ET... "Yeah boss, I'll have that report done by 5:00"

:)
