I'm retiring my priest, at least for a while. Smiley: disappointed

I still love the class. I'm just not playing the same way I was when I chose her as my main; I'm really not raiding anymore and am unlikely to be any time soon. And as my priorities shift and my level of play gets downgraded to even-more-casual, so do the things I'm looking for (*cough* real armor *cough*).

I will, however, still hang out here sometimes for the always-crucial job of passing out cookies (and misinformation).

It's the Death Knights, they've got'em I tell you. I'm sad now.

I don't even have a death knight! I'm the only one I know who doesn't.

I blame Moz.

My priest is wandering Dalaran in a very lovely dress, accompanied by her pet bat, and her only job is to eat cupcakes and occasionally DE stuff. If only I could have such a life.

I'm sad to see you're not going to stick around for Ulduar! The fact that you'll still be active here makes me feel a little better...but I always had this vision of you out there healing in raids on another server. Sadface.

But thank you so much for the help you've given me here. Every big flaily-armed question I barreled in here with while I was leveling was answered patiently and kindly by you, and it means a lot to me that you took the time to share your wisdoms with me.

Do you mind if I ask why you quit raiding? Was it a case of the raider ennui I keep seeing in every single WoW forum I visit?

(But omg I feel you when you talk about armor. It's so wrong that we can't even wear LEATHER in instances where mobs are doing several hundred to thousand damage on PLATE. And PvP for priests? Pshaw. I do WG b/c it's funcakes, but I go there expecting to get owned. I do, too, nearly every time.

Because I wear pajamas.)

Awww Satori you are sweet. :) I actually stopped raiding a while ago, but not for any reasons of hate. Just scheduling. I'm an old lady and I can't stay up that late. I was never a big raider anyway - pretty much the baby priest in my guild. I'll go once in a great while if they need me, but now I mostly just dabble in PVP and the occasional heroic.

I'm going to change over to my pally for a while. I had to think long and hard about committing to a class that's so very OP right now, because by the time I finish leveling her and gear her up I bet the nerf bat will already be swinging. But I loves her. With the right glyphs, if you squint, she's almost like a priest in plate. Smiley: wink I wonder if they're nice over there on the pally forums.

I was all excited by the thought of you picking up your druid again until I saw this.

I'm a sad panda.

I'm kind of honored that the thought of me doing anything has enough influence on you to make you happy. And also a little creeped out. (kidding!)

You know what, seriously though, I probably would've stayed druid and never looked back, but, short, shameful confession: I just cannot commit that much time and energy to a cow. I can't do it. I've even tried. I just can't imagine watching a cow for 70 (80 now) levels, identifying with that cow, saying "yep, that's me, the cow," devoting myself to getting gear for... a cow. No offense to you Taurens out there, it's just not for me. So now that I'm Horde the class is kind of lost to me. WTB another race for druid. Smiley: disappointed

Have fun on your pally!

I just made the semi-opposite switch. It got old hearing how overpowered my paladin was from guildmates, so I'm hoping I can still smash them all on the healing meters and be the best arena healer in the guild with a class that's nowhere close on the OP meters ;)

Plus I've always thought priests just look fun. I know how you feel though, once you take a character to about the gear cap for the content that you do, it gets a little boring after that. For some people that gear cap is full best in slot 25 man raid loot, for others its simply getting that last piece of heroic loot they needed, or even solo loot. The thing is, at some point you might feel you're "done" with that character and theres nothing left you can feasibly upgrade. After that, it gets a little boring. I'm a chronic alt-o-holic, so priest is my next one.

Healing meters will depend on your spec (Disc priests rely a lot on mitigation and so don't always put up numbers that match how awesomely awesome they are), but there's no doubt that priests are all-around kickass PVE healers. And I dunno, there are some pretty great changes for Disc priests in PVP coming. I think that someone who doesn't suck at staying alive the way I do could do quite well. So here's hoping your ambitions come true! Show those guildies of yours that you don't need no pally to be OP; OP is a state of mind. Smiley: cool

Sorry to hear you are semi-retiring your priest but I understand totally. I am now in a smaller guild and am unlikely to be doing too much raiding for a while until we get sorted. NO problems I thought I'm still 80 I still own but apparently not so much. Note to self: Disc is not a good spec for running people through outlands instances...

I have a 70 Paladin and I loved her but I found her healing restrictive, hence the priest roll. However I miss the survivability and I like the look of the new toys Paladin's got in Wrath.

Have fun, enjoy and keep up with those cookies. You have also been a fantastic source of help for me (alongside the lovely mozared ofc and his uber Disc knowledge) so thank you for that.

Certainly a sad day for priests and a happy one for paladins. I look forward to seeing a marked improvement in play and demeanor from the rest of the pallies. ;)

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be ever at your back...

Ahh, Teacake!

Well, to be honest, I understand. I've been lvling my Shaman a lot lately *unless my rl buddies need a healer.
Glad to see you'll be sticking around on the forums, your wisdom has pulled me through many a questions. And I would miss the cookies!

Pallys are a ton of fun. When duel spec comes it will be even more so. But please do try something more than Holy on your pally, as Prot and Ret are a ton of fun :)

The players on the Pally forums were very helpful and fun when I was visiting them. I haven't been overthere for some time now. Losie and Cap Jack really know their stuff.

Gl and as always, have fun.

Thank you so much for your valuable wisdom in helping me to prepare my priest for greater things. I would like to say that she is doing quite well. I am now in heroics now. Its a sad to see one of our guru priest retiring. Nevertheless RL issues comes 1st and I thank you for everything post that you have replied. Do drop in once awhile in this class forum. We would love to hear from you.

Take good care of yourself and continue to enjoy wow. We will miss you.

Cheers teacake

I understand, I guess. Got so tired of my Hunter after it became even more mouthbreathing-demographic friendly, that I played my Rogue and Priest up. Then it turned out I couldn't be active enough to play the Priest in PvE, and got tired of how my Rogue was either OP in burst or UP in survivability in PvP. I think I've switched mains and most active character ten times by now, during my time in WoW.

Sad irony, now I'm leveling another Priest, Disc this time.

Look no further than the Glyph of Holy Light. You know that wherever CoH goes, I follow. Smiley: lol

North, I've changed mains quite a few times myself. I will devote myself intensely to one character, then coldly leave her when something else captures my attention. Smiley: wink I don't think my priest's retirement will be anything like permanent.

Anyway thanks for the good thoughts everyone!

Just don't level a retardin, please? You know I have to reroll on that server and punish you severely until you reach those OP levels where I can't do it anymore...

I have no problem shamelessly using Ret for leveling purposes. I have no desire to prolong my time in Un'Goro or Blade's Edge. Again. But I'm Holy on the inside. Smiley: nod And of course will be at 80. Even if I didn't love healing I'd have to do it, cause my husband won't.
