Demise DPS problemFollow

So I just got Demise (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=39245) from my last run in Naxx and I switched to it immediately. Here's the issue though, I went down in DPS. I was using the Colossal Skull-Clad Cleaver (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37852) and I was around 2600-2800 DPS. With Demise, I was doing around 2100...barely. I'm not sure why my DPS is going down. I have both skills maxed and I'm curious if switching to Demise is actually an upgrade for me. Any help would be much appreciated.

Here's my armory.

Human error.

Stop being terrible and you'll do better DPS.

Also as a PvE spec, you should be able to hit 3k DPS in Naxx easily, if not 3500-4k.

It sounds like bad luck, human error, or depends on the encounter.

Also:

Your trinkets. Argh! They don't stack and share the same internal cooldown. Drop the crappy PvP one. It does NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING for you.

Sorry you wasted emblems on the Sigil, but I believe it's been pretty much decided that Haunted Dreams isn't much good.

All your gear needs enchants.

Your belt needs a socket.

Your professions need to be maxxed.

I'm not a Death Knight, but following these simple steps will increase your DPS by a bit too.

FTFY.

And needs more expertise.

[EDIT]

And On A Pale Horse < 2 points in Night of the dead or 2 points in Unholy Aura or 1 point in Virulence to cap hit and 1 in Bladed Armor or 2 in Bladed Armor or 1 in Bladed Armor and 1 in Dark Conviction or 1 point in WP...

I think you see where I am going with this.

And, something to consider, at the end of your raid run, check to see the percentage of damage you get from crits and the percentage you get from Icy Touch.

Holy Cookie Cutter Batman!

I have no clue why they don't take Desecration though. It is a solid DpS increase if you aren't running around a lot.

My questions are these: 1. Was your mace skill maxed? 2. If you equipped it right away, does that mean you didn't have any enchants on it? 3. Enchant you gear much?

Well I needed to replace those trinkets with something better and I didn't really have much of a choice. Can you please suggest some better ones for me?

Same thing with the Sigil. I had the original death knight one on and I wanted to replace it with something. I've been waiting on Sigil of Awareness to drop but it hasn't yet.

Which enchants do you suggest? I know icewalker is good for boots, but to be honest I'm clueless on other gear.

I apologize if I'm creating a problem, I don't usually get online much, school and work take up most of my life.

Thanks for your help in advance. :D

Darkmoon Card: Greatness Gives 180 passive AP, with a huge burst of it every 45-50 seconds. You need to get a Nobles Deck to do the quest, which can get pricey. But, as far as I have heard, it remains the best (or at least one of the best) DK DpS trinket(s) even through Ulduar.

Besides that, you will find a list of trinkets for Unholy in this post.

Well, as Unholy, you will likely want a Sigil of Arthritic Binding. It'll take a maximum of an hour to get it on most servers. Just do 5 PvP dailies in Grizzly Hills (they are different quests and can all be done in 1 day. Each rewards 10 Venture Coins, 50 of which can be turned in for that Sigil).

WoWHead.com

You can find plenty of Enchants on there. Aim to cap your Hit (8%), your expertise (5%?) and get as much AP as possible without sacrificing too much +crit. Remember, yours is the most gear independent spec, so you have a lot more leeway to work with. But, most of our abilities use AP as a modifier, so the higher the better.

And, remember, time your Gargs carefully. If you can use it when you hav Unholy Strength, a Greatness Proc and (if you have one) an on-use trinket. If you have a Shaman in the group, try and use it when Bloodlust is up. The Grag copies the stats of the caster when you summon it, so having as much AP and Haste as possible in that moment is ideal.

Honestly, if you have the Mirror of Truth ANYTHING is better than the PvP one. Well, anything with passive stats. Darkmoon Card: Undeath is sucky to the extreme right now, but it would still be better. The tiny box of horrors, while being as weak as Haunted Dreams sigil (but in a trinket slot) is better. The optimal thing to get is Darkmoon Card: Greatness (STR version).

Expertise cap for DPS is 26; I believe you currently had 10 or so. That's around a 6.25% chance to decreased dodge/parry. The parry is useless, as you should always be behind your enemy, but NPCs can dodge from any direction so you need 26 expertise.

It's because most fights (if you aren't in one of the top 1000 guilds in the world) have some sort of movement in them; that almost automatically removes Desecration from being useful (or at least extremely so).

It's useful testing on dummies, and great for PvP, but for PvE, it's kinda lackluster.

Also, that it's 12 sec duration instead of 20 (i.e. a normal length rotation), that the SS glyph will reapply your three diseases at some point in your rotation, but not pop out Desecration, makes it less than useful.

The points can be spent in better ways elsewhere.

Oh, and it makes the green gasses hard to see (more like impossible) on Grobbulus.
