Hi everyone!
I've been playing WoW for quite a long time. I have several 80's. And last month I decided that pal is what I had been loking for all the time. Being capable to do almost every job in the game (druids also can, but the armor gap between them is rather big), pal seemed to be an ideal class for me... not until i speced into holy... I just don't have enough words to describe all my feelings... after playing resto-dru for quite a long time holypal is really dissapointing for me. may be the reason is that i'm only 70 lvl, but i have pretty good gear with some epics... and i try to follorw the cycle from holy guide on this site. even a 5-people dungeon like Nexus seems very difficult to me... just tell me: will the things improve at 80? otherwise I will have to be prot pal forever..(

I can only assume your post was sub-defaulted due to being perceived as a troll or due to being badly written.

I can't agree with what you are saying. We have a holy paladin in our guild and his healing is really good, all I can suggest is that you're not doing it right. Try checking out some of the guides, there's one here:

You must be doing something wrong. Yesterday I joined a raiding guild where all the Healers are fer better equipped then me (ignore the innuendo). I was taken along to Malygos heroic, the first time I had ever been there, and I came out second on the Healing meters behind an epically geared druid. And my mana didnt go low the entire fight, even with near constant holy light spam.

Although I must admit I have never healed as a Holy Pala (perhaps I should try it just for experience), it seems to me that the healing style between the three classes - druid, priest, and pala - vary quite significantly. Although there is some overlap, druids specialise in HoTs - put them on and watch the health regen. Paladins specialise in direct heals - take the damage, heal it back. And priests specialise in damage prevention and pre-healing, such as PW:S and Prayer of Mending. (And for completeness, the shaman seems to excel at chain healing, although it is the class I know the least.) As such, the four have quite different playing styles.

This is not to say that any one class is better than the others. However, it does mean that just because you enjoy healing out of one class, you will not nescessarily enjoy healing out of the others. Gone are the days when classes could double-up for each other, and gone are the days when a paladin can handle any role on a party ("LF Random"). Now, even the hybid classes are specialists depending on talent spec - and if Holy healer doesn't suit you, there are two other specs that might.

Play what you enjoy - but don't expect the paladin to be the god-like all-rounder that it appears to be on paper.

Holy Paladins still totally excel at tank healing and can do just a bit of raid healing with things like Beacon of Light. For a lot of fights I am perfectly happy as a Paladin Tank having a Holy Paladin as my healer. They have excessively powerful heals due to being equipped to have a huge crit rating, and with all of the +Int that they stack, they have a truly huge mana pool and so many regen tools that you simply cannot make them go OOM.

If you don't have a ton of +crit and +int and don't use Bacon, your Holy Pally probably isn't very good. Holy Paladins are no longer Flash of Light Spam Machines. Bacon, Holy Shock, Holy Light, 40-yard range on judgements, etc. means that you should be using all of these tools to help you do your job better. The top Holy Pally in my guild is simply amazing, and he is no where near best-in-slot for most of his gear, he just knows the class really well.

If you think that Holy Paladins are crappy healers, then you are probably doing something wrong. I am not saying that in order to be offensive or demeaning or anything, just pointing out that a lot has changed with the class since the Vanilla and TBC days and maybe you aren't aware of how to best equip and use your holy Pally just yet.
