Arcane, gearing properly?Follow

Hey all this is for the Arcane pros.

I have been arcane for a while and currently in naxx 10/25 gear, around 2030 spell power unbuffed and 20% crit. I usually run with mage armor on boss fights because I tend to go oom if not.

I have been making upgrades since regularly 3hr clearing naxx 25 and looking at what gear I should roll on. Typically I hear and believe that haste+spell power gear is ideal for arcane. The problem is most of the haste+sp gear has spirit on it which makes people believe that it is healer gear. Am I right on rolling on this gear?

The same question is asked for the valor badge gear. I picked up the valor ring with haste+sp and spirit and the cloak with the same type of stats. Should I have done this? And should I look into getting the valor emblem boots? I have very bad luck and run with 3 other mages.

Also, I have 3/5 T7.5 and 2/5T7. Which of the set is the poorest itemized, I have heard the helm but I want to make sure, again for arcane in mind. So which should I aim at replacing for this? Also, any tips on best in slot for waist/wrist/boots/OH/wand or a place to find good opinions on this?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I am aiming/rolling on the right gear.

As for the rest of your questions...

Many of the Spirit + Haste gear that is in post-t7 content (Maly, OS+, Saph/KT, ect) IS and WAS intended for Arcane use, as well as Healer use. There's nothing inherently wrong with this - and theoretically you're still sharing this gear pool with Warlocks as well as healers. There should not be a real issue with this. If you're Raids are running 3 Hour Naxxes, they should be bright enough to know Arcane Mages want spirit. Try your hardest not to stray too far from 8-10% hit (17% total), as it will certainly effect your DPS negatively for 25-man content - use what pieces of Hit you can discard to pick up Spirit gear.

The Valor Emblem gear is actually not that hot for Arcane Mages. Most of that stuff ranks in the top-10 in Slots, but are not even close to BiS. Too much hit really can be a killer for Arcane. If you find yourself with too much hit, drop 1 point out of Precision and more out of Arcane Focus. Ideally, though, you'll want to replace the gear - not the talents.

The worst T7 pieces in comparison to BiS options are the Legs. Second worst are the Chests. In nearly every gear/spec circumstances, the 25-Man Helm and Shoulders are the best in slots. You'll need to consider which 2 are only 10-man gear, however, as they can drastically bring down your DPS.

The Heroic Emblem waste is good, the Heroic Emblem Book is good for OH, and as for Wrists/Boots/Wand it depends on your current Hit and Spirit levels.
Here is my Mage.

My current upgrades I really need are => Arcanic Tramplers from 25 Malygos, and Pennant Cloak and Unsullied Cuffs from OS+2. There are many other Upgrades, including Weapon/OH, Legs, Rings, Trinket, ect... but being part of a pretty close-knit Raid group I'm comfortable where I'm at and am looking to let those items go to people who would gain bigger benefits from them.

Really, I would avoid having a "wish list" unless you're bored and want to find your BiS. You can make a myriad of different combinations and land in the same spot DPS wise, you just need to juggle how much Hit, Spirit, Haste and Crit you have.
