I just hit level 80 and I wanted to know if I am ready to do Heroics. All of my gear is blue, and I am waiting for 3.1 do duel spec (combat/multilate) Currently Im grinding for gold to get my 300 riding skill (5000 gold seems freakin high btw)
I thing I can run heroics but I do not want too be a burden on a pug. Just want opinions on my character (I know I need more hit rating but that will come with better gear) Please give me confedence and some direction of where to start. Thanks in andvance to all who respond.

Please research before you ask the same questions that are asked 3 times a day.

I mean there is at least 2 posts on the exact same question on the first page of the rogue forums.

The advice given in both of the posts suit you, too.

Get a new mainhand weapon ASAP if you have any intention of doing heroics. Fist/Dagger with Unholy Persuader and Librarian's Paper Cutter would be an upgrade from your current setup, though there are plenty of other options.

Throw some dirt-cheap enchants on your gear even if you don't want to spring for the expensive ones.

There are some decent BoE shoulders and belt can be made by a leatherworker - just a matter of farming the materials.

While it's not the final authority, ShadowPanther.net gives a decent idea of some gear you could be shooting for. If you're really serious about your Rogue, learn to love your Roguecraft Spreadsheet.

In terms of going into a Heroic and not being a liability ... there are training dummies in major cities that you can practice your rotations on. As a tanking Warrior (not the highest DPS tank certainly and I haven't been raiding yet) I can put out ~1500 DPS on a Heroic boss. Figure out your DPS and assess if you're high enough to contribute meaningfully to downing a boss (somewhere between 2k-5k over a fight seems to be the norm for decent DPS).

Jesus, I apologise for the redundancy but my specs were not posted on those and my question was pertaining to my specific build and equipment. If you feel like you have to be the redundant post police thats fine but I was only looking for some help, not to be lectured.

Thanks for the info. I guess I need to rep grind and do my dailys for more gold to get started. Might switch to Multilate build to get used to the rotations. Again, I apologise for the redundant post.

Almost all of your gear is pre-level 80 blues. Your main hand is a level 74, and there are no sword upgrades until you get some reputation, so going CQC if you're staying with Combat would be better because then you could get some decent items to use (Bonecrusher/LPC). There are several BoE armor upgrades listed in the other threads linked by Feyras. None of your gear is enchanted. Your second profession isn't maxed.

Are you ready for heroics? No. Any group that would take you right now would be picking up your slack. Harsh, but that's the honest truth. Go smack a heroic target dummy for two minutes with WWS or Recount and tell us how your DPS is. I'm guessing around the 1k mark (and that's ideal situations, where you never need to move). I'm not trying to be rude, but until you make at least a modicum of effort into gearing yourself for level 80, no way should you be going to heroics.

Note: you do NOT need epic flying to get Winter Wings and fly in Northrend. Focus on your equipment first, then your epic flyer.

If your guild is willing to bring you that's fine and wonderful and the quickest way to gear up. But if not, do whoever you group with a favor and get some enchants and new items. Your spec looks ok, but as said there are no good swords for you yet so you should think about changing Sword Spec for CQC and getting some new weapons.

Except the unholy persuader is an off-hand weapon making it a bad move.

I just noticed that was an OH weapon so thats idea is out. I ended up buying 2 LPCs cheap on the AH and respeced Mutilate until I get my rep with KOEB up to revered to get the sword. Hopefully 3.1 will be in effect by then so I can dual spec combat. I have upgraded most of my equipment but think I'll just run the lvl 80 instances until I get use to the Mutilate rotation. thanks for the help all.

Much improved. You definitely need to start running instances, work on Hodir rep, and max a second trade skill. You can still upgrade your back piece to Ice Striker's. But yes, now I'm take you in a heroic :)
