So I have looked around (mainly on google) for a good spec. But, everything seems to be outdated. Any help? Thanks

How about you try and look at the top of the Rogue forum at the sticky?

Essentially, at 50 get mutilate and do quests. Simple.

Two points of contention there:
1. The Sticky is outdated by almost 5 months. A LOT has changed.
2. The leveling section says go combat. That's it. Mutilate isn't mentioned in a leveling context at all, hence why you get topics like mine (which the OP SHOULD have looked at. Seriously, look, it's an identical topic only 4 posts down; only difference is I'm debating combat versus Mutilate using heirloom items).

The stickies here are seriously oudated. RPZip's Poison FAQ is just wrong with some changes (Wound Poison's proc rate, huge incoming changes in 3.1, needing to do the quest, etc), which makes sense as it hasn't been updated in over a year. Theophany's FAQ hasn't been updated since WotLK because he dropped rogue for DK. And Aen's lockpicking FAQ is from 2005, and doesn't go past level 60.

Hate to say it, but the rogue forums need a serious revamp o_O

I'd be happy to revamp it? Show me how to edit other people's posts and consider it done.

Make admin.

Only admin can edit other posts.

The Trade Skills FAQ in that forum used to be mine. When someone else wanted to update they simply contacted an admin with their completed guide (which was basically mine, but with new and updated information). I told the admin (Kao?) that I was out of the game and it was fine to have it updated, and voila. Mine became a post and theirs became a sticky.

I would contact Theophany to see if he has any plans to update, and if not, post on Forum Feedback that you have a guide for the Rogue forums. The admin will probably ask to see it, and then have you post it here (usually in post with several of your own responses continuing it, as they tend to be long). The admin will then make it a sticky.

True, but the builds really haven't. And it's the build that the OP inquired about.

But you have a point. Here's what I suggest people build for mutilate to level with:
Level 50, Level 72, at 80 swap out to a cleaner end-game build, which you can find in the sticky =)

It's too late and too early to update it right now. You're better off waiting for 3.1 to officially release. If the user who owns the sticky isn't around anymore or isn't planning on updating it you could update it and then talk to an admin to take down the old sticky and put up the new one.

The sticky section of the forum rules contains eerything you need to know about getitng somethign stickied. The quickest and easiest way is to write a combo sticky. THose will almost always be automatically stickied as long as they are as least as good as the origional.

FWIW, Therion and I have been talking about a revamp to the guide (even though both of us play our DKs more than our rogues now).

It'll be updated when everything settles around 3.1.

In the mean time, if you'd like to send me stuff to change in the sticky via PM, go ahead.

TBH DK is the one class I've wanted in this game more than anything.

Though my idea behind the class was more like the DKs from WC2, being casters.

I imagined the class much like a combination of mage/lock, throwing Death Coils, summoning ghouls, hitting DnD and having an aura come out of us, etc.

Then again, if we were like DKs in WC2, we could fight mounted. Smiley: grin

Teron Gorefiend has been my own personal hero since I started playing the Warcraft series.

Theo, with all of the problems with rogue pvp at the moment, and blizzard's recent statements about how we have "Excellent CC, Decent burst/mobility/survivability" I'm about ready to join y'all on the bandwagon. Giddy up, mr. orc DK!

TBH Rogues are pretty good in 2v2 at the moment; Teddy's and my success in 2v2s is a strong indicator of that, since I'm still getting my DK skills up to par with where my Rogue skills were at.

It helps that Priest/Rogue is really the only true counter-comp to any Lock/Healer comp. DK/Pally is of course strong, but I'd argue for non-OP classes, Priest/Rogue is one of the most powerful comps (DK/Pally being OP, same with Shaman/Hunter, Pally/Hunter).

DK has a pretty heavy disconnect with how you play as a rogue if you want to play the class at a 2200+ skill level; it's a learning curve. You can faceroll to ~1800-2k-ish with a healer, but if you run double DPS or want to get Glad, you're gonna need at least some skill or one of the best Paladins/Priests on your realm.

Yeah.. we do fine, double engineering ftw. It just pisses me off when the two classes who can 2-shot my priest dodge/parry/resist/immune my every attempt at peeling. (Ferals/Shadowfrost DK's).

Gripe gripe.

Also I started pvping on my lock again and we took 21/19/18 points from a rogue/rogue team. I have 17k hp. ^^

Uh, your priest has ~12k HP?

Because 6k is about as large a crit as you're going to see from an IT (which is our highest damage ability).

That said, I'm hanging up my 2h and going back to my rogue. I'm getting frustrated with learning a new class.

If it tells you guys anything, I was in WG tonight 1v1ing geared 80s with my 79 undead rogue with 4/5 Brutal and Traditional Flensing Knives as mut.

It was pretty awesome rocking 14k HP and ~260 resil and downing people with Floless Victor titles.
