So yea i have decided to take a break from my lock and level my hunter. Currently he is 44 and i have a gorilla as a pet, and it is by far my most favorite pet ever. But i was just wondering if that is going to change much when 3.1 comes out and if it does what pet would be best for leveling?
It doesn't matter, any pet will be fine. Pick one you think is pretty. Also make sure you read the sticky. It will help you.

Bears will come a bit more into vogue as best leveling pets, but gorillas will be tied or just a smidge below them.
I have a feeling Crocs will be by far the best AoE pets.

If only because bad attitude doesn't have such a great uptime.
And swipe alone holds aggro well enough to mend pet.
Edit: @ anneron: Elites aren't any different from any other pet when tamed.
Your bangalash is a cat and has the exact same stats as any other cat you'd have at that level.

HAHA. i agree but he/she has a point , some of the most wanted pets and some of the rarer skins are from elites so in a way is correct.
If I were an admin, I wouldn't break out the ban stick....its kind of fun to watch a person meltdown. With that said, "are boars still the best pet?"

Or you could try some self-control. Whatever works.
A tenacity pet is great for soloing low level dungeons and tough elites, but personally I think that Ferocity pets are best for leveling with right now if you don't plan on aoe grinding. I just switched from a gorilla to a devilsaur on my baby troll, and am killing things so much faster thanks to the higher damage (plus Bloodthirsty means less mana spent on Mend Pet). The higher damage really makes a difference.
With the damage/health/armor bonuses being equalized for 3.1 it will be interesting to see if Ferocity is still awesome, or if Tenacity pulls ahead even for leveling hunters who try to fight only one mob at a time.

I just started a Zam account yesterday cause I couldn't get on Thottbot I don't want to seem like some Noob, but had to leave my computer fast so i didnt have time to finish what i was saying. My 51 Hunter is on the realm Anetheron and is named Killerxlr. I thought I would get a warmer welcome than that. But i think elites are the best pest because they have higher stats then normal beasts.
