I've been on hold for 20 minutes now. Gamestop. Smiley: mad

[EDIT]

Those ******* just hung up on me. As in, I'm sitting there on hold, and I hear the click, and suddenly I'm not connected anymore.

/em hops on the Gamestop hate train.

When you get to speak to someone, make them wait first. Then yell something along the lines of "SEE, YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING THAT IS YOU LITTLE ****!?" after a bit.

Yeah, judging from the info in my edit above, I'm pretty sure they'd just hang up on me again.

Nah, you posted before I actually edited. I had the window open for a little while.

Call round two is currently at a 21 minute wait.

[EDIT]

Ironically, I didn't even need to yell at the guy for the hangup incident. After telling him I'd already called once, and they never sent the info, he just gave me the code over the phone without even asking who I was or for proof I purchased the game. Smiley: lol

What do you need them for anyway?

You know, aside from complaining about their terrible service. Smiley: lol

And I needed my early access code for FFXIV, since they didn't give it to me when I pre-ordered. I have very little time to play during the week, so those days on the weekend are pretty much all I'm really going to have until the following weekend. And dammit, I want them.

They scrapped it and redesigned the entire game into A Realm Reborn, which is launching this month.

Ohh, is it going to suck less this time around?

Also, Japanese street fashion is ******* insane. The Rick Owens sneakers (high tops with the zipper that half of them seem to wear) are amazing though. If only they didn't cost €750...

The comments I see from people who played the original are that it's better in pretty much every way.

I've enjoyed myself in the beta I've had access to. That's all I can really say.

From what I gathered, the original was pretty much a giant pile of **** so better in every way isn't all that descriptive. Smiley: tongue

Also, why is it that designer stuff often looks so much better than anything I can afford? Although I'm not a big fan of the whole goth ninja/next level stuff aside from those sneakers.

I don't know about in the Netherlands, but here as long as they're at least 12 weeks old and weigh 2 lbs. you can have her spayed. I'd definitely recommend not waiting past 4 months old. Despite what some idiot vet techs who work at the Banfield Clinic in PetSmart here think... cats can totally go into heat at 6 months old and get knocked up. My first kitten's mother did it. I got into a verbal fight with someone about that. She looked at me like I was an idiot because I wanted Miranda spayed before she was six months old.

The original complaints that come to mind was that there wasn't enough to do (like nothing), it was tons of grinding, the market system wasn't enjoyable, and the class system was meh.

So they completely redesigned the game. They ended FFXIV with a giant invasion event, and reshaped the zones and world accordingly for ARR. It's more like a sequel, in that respect.

But now there are quest structures from start to finish, they added a ton of guild leves (their dungeon quest thingy), added FATE events (public events a la GW2/Rift), added a bunch of other PVE content pathways. I haven't actually looked into those too actively, because I don't like going into MMOs knowing everything. I have fun discovering stuff.

Oh, and they changed the class system (dropped one class by fusing it into Gladiator, added the Arcanist class). Classes now specialize into jobs at high levels (Glad -> Paladin, Arcanist -> Summoner or Scholar, etc.) These essentially replace the ability to slot cross-class skills (like giving a Conjurer, the main healer, stronger nukes, too) with dedicated, specialized skills for specific roles. Right now, only Arcanist has two specializations (one is support and damage, like the Arcanist, the other adds healing capabilities to create a second healing job).

It looks like it will be an interesting system. And their crafting stuff looks really interesting.

I know nothing about endgame.

I never understood how fashion design works. They come up with completely insane concepts that no sane person would wear in public. What's the point?

That album are all things that were worn in public.

Most of those outfits also probably cost a good bit more than your or my entire wardrobe. Just the sneakers are €750 and the rest is probably a lot of equally exclusive designer stuff so yeah...

The stuff at that level of fashion isn't expected to last more than a season, if that. It's ludicrous from any remotely practical ideas regarding clothing. It's sort of a huge blow-up of current trends, cranking them to their highest points.

But, even though those fashion trends change subtly at the consumer level from season to season, when you're talking about extreme exaggeration of those features even a change to something like color palettes and sleeve length renders most of your wardrobe out of date.

It's insane, yes. But whatever, if the rich want to be absurd (or the non-rich want to make people think they're rich), I couldn't care less.

Is the idea behind Japanese Street Fashion to hide the sex of the person wearing it? Because a couple of them chicks were sporting a sweet goatee.

As far as fashion goes, everything has already been done. Some dope playing with shoes and drawing them with zippers on the side and five tongues is not creative. But like digg said, maybe in a different context, "if the rich want to be absurd (or the non-rich want to make people think they're rich), I couldn't care less."

I'm pretty sure they're not going for absurd, it's just that they're not dressing to impress you or me but other people who are as much into fashion as they are.

Yes, but that leads to an eternal feedback loop, which is an absurd way to live.

Why is it absurd? If that's what they enjoy.
