While salt and vinegar chips, of any variety, are delicious. I can at least stop myself from ingesting them (if only because my lips are on fire).

Cheez-Its, not so much.

So last night I was woken up around 4 by the sound of shattering glass.

My cats had managed to knock over a vase and it shattered into a few billion pieces. I ended up standing in my living room at 4 in the morning wearing nothing but boots vacuuming my house to get out all the glass shards while I had 2 cats in total panic from the vacuum cleaner running around the house.

Must've been quite a spectacle if anyone could see it...

The world looks so much different without the word stuff.

I'm sure it entertained the neighbors at least. Should have uploaded it to youtube, you'd be like a super star or something now. Smiley: wink

Kitty wakes up in the morning, grabs his leash and waits at the front door for our morning jogs now.

Still can't learn he's not a cat and shouldn't answer to Kitty, but knows when its walkies time.

I could use this sort of motivation. My running has dropped way off. I'm doing well on the biking though.

You could try this?

I've shifted much more towards strength training over cardio, so I don't use it much anymore, but it was enjoyable.

[EDIT]

Ironically, a gas station attendant asked for my zip code today.

Thankfully none of my neighbors can look into my house even if I had the curtains open (at least they can't without going outside.

I lost my black cat a few months ago, he didn't come home anymore. Smiley: frown

So after 2 months of searching for him and getting ever more crazy I got 2 new cats 3 weeks ago now which I was told were a pair of brothers but turned out to be brother and sister.

Aww, I'm sorry. Smiley: frown That's one of the reasons I keep my kitties indoors only. Sure kitties like to go outdoors, but it's too dangerous. They can get hurt way too easily by lots of different things, whether you're in the city or a rural area.

On a side note, I just watched the trailer for patch 5.4 that's on the front page. Damn... Almost enough to pull me back in. If I wasn't in school, I'd probably go download WoW again. Maybe once I've graduated at the end of fall term. We'll see.

I would agree with you but from the first day he was allowed outside he was a much happier cat, friendlier, more relaxed and just in general much, much more happy. Some cats just aren't indoor cats.

But that's also the reason I wanted 2 now, they can look out and protect each other now and they will because they're super close (when one is on the litterbox the other will lie in front of it waiting...)

And although I do really miss Ahmu it helps that Pink and Wilson are absolutely adorable:

Sorry to hear that Aeth. While I'm not much of a cat person, I am an animal lover, so I feel for you.

I'm sure you know this already but I'll say it anyway, on the outside chance you don't. My uncle had a cat (Caesar) that disappeared and then returned a couple of months later. This continued until somehow he found out (I never got this part straight) that Caesar was living with a neighbor six doors down whenever he went missing. It seems this neighbor thought he had a cat named Little Guy. Maybe your black cat will come home soon. Also, dogs could never be that cool - to carry on two separate lives like that.

As for the gender mis-identification, it was only yesterday I overheard someone talking about this. I never knew that when they're young it is so difficult to determine whether they are male or female. I actually thought this lady was talking about her children by the way she was referring to them - her babies - and I looked at the guy next to me and said, confused and with a straight face, "I never had a problem telling my daughter was a female."

To turn this already too-long post into an interminably long post, but continuing the segue, two nights ago I saw something streak across the floor out of the corner of my eye. I'm sure it was a mouse but when we do get them inside it's in the fall. So, I told my wife the next morning that we need a cat, because her cocker spaniel/poodle mix, Buddy, was laying on his back on his doggie bed with his legs all akimbo, fast asleep while the mouse ran past him. It's hard to tell and it's only been a week and a half ago or so that I grew suspicious as Wilson suddenly got much larger than his sister. I figured I'd check to make sure and after some struggle I confirmed that he was indeed the only cat with balls in the house.

And they really love to hunt, I haven't had a mouse yet but moths, flies and spiders are doomed if they get near the cats.

Edit: I should add, it's really easy to see if a cat is male or female if they're either red, a tortie (red/black mix) or a calico (red, white and black) because only 1 in 300 or so red cats is female and torties and calicos are almost always female (1 in 3000 is male or something around there),

The reason why it's so hard to tell with cats before they hit puberty, is because of the way their genitals are shaped. From what I remember, girls are shaped like a semicolon ; and boys are shaped like an upside down exclamation mark. I've never heard of a cat being misgendered as a boy though. Usually people think a kitten is a girl and it ends up being a boy. At least in my experience.

I never really had to try and determine a cat's gender before so thankfully mine are old enough for a clear difference. How the mom's owner mixed it up I don't know although with 5 kittens and 4 of them looking a lot alike I guess it's not that hard to get something mixed up. Especially because my two looked a lot alike a few weeks ago, now the difference in size and build makes it a lot easier and the difference in their markings is a lot more clear. They're still two brown tabbies with white socks and a white chest though.

Speaking of cats, we're thinking our unspayed kitten might be pregnant. She's snuck out of the house a few times, and she hasn't gone into heat for about two weeks. Normal cycle is about every ten days. We were told she was spayed and had her shots before we took her in, but we were lied to apparently. So we might have some kittens here in about two months. >.> I'm excited, but also rather nervous too.

Kittens are adorable. I still prefer full grown cats though.

And that reminds me, I need to look up when my cat can get spayed. I don't want to have a nest of kittens.
