Some of the guys from my old heroic crew in BC came back, including the original GM of my guild (<3 that mexican fool).

I've been chain running heroics and it's been ******* awesome. Every moment on vent is just pure gold with all the random jokes being cracked.

The sad part is, two of them are old guildies and only like 8 people remember them or know who they are.

I think that was me :-)

Just a question, we're the green boxes from that remove-poison/curse addon thing you guys were talking about earlier? I do like the buff tracker on the upper right. One of my next goals (after finishing playing with grid) is to do something about how much space the buffs/de-buffs take up on the screen.

I'm still some making headway myself (linky), my playing time has been limited this week though.

I like sexymap, but it failed to hide one of the little circles from my gear-switching addon (baudgear if I remember right). Is there a different one anyone uses for switching gear? The little circle annoys me...

I think I'm starting to get addicted to this UI tweaking thing. X-D

Change/remove the border from your casting bar, and align the chat frame with your action bars or something. Get Align if you don't have it, and consider hiding the action bars or at least scaling them down.

And I'd remove the arcane stargate art ******** around your minimap.

For tracking buffs, there are three options now - Elkano's buff bars (they're pretty and easy to set up), SatrinaBuffFrames (for loads of customisation) and DoTimer has been updated finally, I'm excited about that but I still need to check out whether it's got as much customisation options as I want/need. I'm not sure if it displays buffs/debuffs on yourself though in its current incarnation and didn't have time to check it out yet.

Also, were you the one with the small screen? :P

ya that was me. :p

I'm assuming there's artwork options in sexymap? Honestly my time to fiddle with it has been limited. I downloaded it, hopped online, and went straight into ToC then rep farming in ICC when I took the screenie.

A friend has been telling me to check out Quartz for my cast bars, so I'll probably look into that. The one on there is just the default from dominoes.

All the action bars have been scaled down a bit, but yes, it would be nice if the chat box lined up better. Will have to do more to get that to happen. Thanks for the buff-tracking options, I'll be sure to check those out. Still a work in progress... :-)

I have little time to answer right now, but I hope it helps (also, i`m at work and just discovered that imageshack is blocked here. hope i remember my ui from the top of my head):

Quote:

In the middle of the screen, there are some faded squares. That`s the addon (Decursive)

Quote:

Its Elk`s Buff Bar, the same someone talked about. At its side theres a decurse bar too (same addon), I think you can see the ICC debuf there.

I would make the keybags disappear (I think one-bag and bagnon can do that).

Yeah, scale down the action bar. Bind them to numbers, so you dont need to click (and dont need to see much) and make them change accordingly to your form. All you need to do is set up a bar while in caster form, change to another form and set up the same bar (assuming you are using dominos, theres a sub-menu when you click on it allowing the bar to change accordingly too).

I would move your target bar a bit to your right or left. Right now, it will get on your face on raids or heroics when you need to see things. But thats just me. And I would scale it down a lot too. You dont really need to see the name of it + the total health + the health percentage (same with mana). You can change that on Pitbull, on the "text" submenu of the target submenu, if I`m not mistaken. You can change the text size too (on the bars), so dont forget to scale those down also.

Scale down chat frame too, unless you really cant read stuff. I would say make new tabs too. I use different tabs accordingly to what im doing. For instance, I dont want to see trade chat or other chats (including guild chat) while im raiding, so, instead of leaving those, I created a chat tab that only show me raid chat + warnings + yells (its helpfull sometimes to see what the heck the boss is yelling) + whispers (sometimes I disable it) + say.

I would scale down the form bar too. Really small. You are usually on the same form anyway, unless you do a lot of pvp. And if you do, you should macro forms changes and never ever click on those. For pvp, I macroed all forms to my mouse (scroll-click, shift scroll-click, etc). For PvE, only flight form, cheetah form and the current one (moonkin/tree).

Yes, get Quartz. I disabled the dominos default and use Quartz. I use it to see the hots on my target too, it really helps. I think there are some SS I posted before with both the cast bar showing and the HoTs. For the DoTs, Squawk&Awe do the job for me.

With Sexymap, I think it's best to just completely disable borders. If you want one of the fancy ones, your call but I don't really like it.

I use Quartz for cast bars and the mirror bar. I do not use it for HoTs and such. Okay, I only have two (sort of) of those to track at the moment as priest, but I still use Satrina Buff Frames for that because I use it for buffs/debuffs anyway and having a huge bar for it is sometimes really handy. I've been planning to actually utilise PowerAuras for that just to try it out but I have too much stuff going on at the moment to actually take the time and do much about my UI especially since it is pretty much functional and good-looking enough already.

Doesn't help that Aeth is actually there to play most of the time now. Not that I'm complaining about that. He's such a brilliant tank.

Edit: And yes, scaling stuff down is super important for us people with small screens.

For minimap moving, I prefer Chinchilla Minimap. I found Sexymap too distracting / aesthetic-heavy.

Unless you need more from Quartz than just castbars, I really recommend Castbars as Quartz contains a lot of stuff not related to castbars only.

The reason I was given for quartz is that it takes into account your latency, etc. Thought being if any of my chars are ever in a position where they have to interrupt a cast, it could suck to have the interrupt miss due to the extra lag time.

But I'm all for an addon that's a lesser memory hog.... XD

The lag thing on Quartz is really nice for queueing spells. I use it a lot. But if thats the main reason you want to use it, I bet there are others addons more specifics for that.

Castbars does the red-coloring of latency as well. Only thing it doesn't feature is more than one decimal on the cast time and pushback seen as red-colored digits. The way I'm running it at the moment, latency shows up like with Quartz.

Bloody hell, I just leveled my druid with Mozared's new warrior, and it's now half five in the morning. Damn people who are nice to talk to, and having an awesome guild.

Also, southern Dutch is much better to understand and copy than Aethien's. I think I like the southern accents better because of that. Maybe I should just learn Flemish and hope I can get away with that. Or learn Flemish first and then learn proper Dutch, like I did with English.

New gripe, getting gear on an alt that I would much rather have on my Druid. Like 2 trophies in a 25 man ToC PuG... Oh, and they really do need to make Emblems BoA. I love my DK, but tanking on my druid is sooo much easier.

1 prot. pally, 1 ret. pally, 2 shadow priests, and my druid on heals: it makes H HoR stupidly easy...

Oh and I got 7 frost lotus in like an hour of farming, it was a good weekend. ;-)

Generally tree heals makes HHoR really easy.

After some guild drama which included ninjaing of the gbank, 8 people going horde and a whole ton of drama leaving the guild.... My guild is back to its normal state. We've got a bunch of new recruits and I hope they're pretty decent players I've yet to see.

Also I healed 10 man ICC and the two healers that were with me on Saurfang could not keep up the healing. So that forced me to go boomkin.

6.7k dps later we wiped again but this time not at 25%. It was more like at 200k.

*sigh* I didn't get my scourgelord baton or my sliver of pure ice. *sad face*

Guild drama like this is never fun but cool that your guild is back to normal.

Two healing it on 10 man is definitely the way to go. Quite surprised that you never got Saurfang down as they appear to have nerfed it to the ground....last night in 25 man we flew through the fight with no problem and usually 25 man drives me to tears. What was killing you?

It was a number of things really. I've two healed it with a competent healer, good dps and good tanks.

I was pushing on average between 3.5k-4.5k heals throughout the fight. That paired with two tanks that aren't totally "ICC 10" ready really hurt us as well. It was mostly an alt run with a few mains, which actually almost got me into it with my GM who I've been playing the game with for.... 3 years?

The case seemed to be a lack of heals, poor tanking and lower dps. The heals were myself (tree), resto shaman and a holy priest. I would have rejuv/regrowth up on both tanks at all times but he was gaining blood power like ******* mad. So mark would end up going out and I would keep my regrowth/rejuv across all three. Well, I can only pump out so many heals before I completely deplete my resources.

So what ended up happening was I went boomkin, we force the shaman to go ele and our spriest went to his disc spec. So with the disc priest (which is normally what I 2 heal with) we had some bigger mitigation across the group and his 4k dps was replaced with mine plus the ele shammy's 3.5k.

The fight is stupid easy which is why I was so frustrated with it. I asked my gm why he was arms on his warrior when he had 2 2handers and he said its cause he doesnt want to be fury. After I said fury is gonna net more dps he kinda snapped at me. So I just said **** it and we called the run.

On another side note I pugged VoA10. Downed Toralon after a wipe and I heard quite possibly the best pug question ever.

"*stupid druid* why aren't you in the instance?"
"It won't let me in."
"Are you saved?"
"Yes."
"You can't come then."
"How do I unsave myself?"
stupid druid has been removed.

Hmmmm, sounds like you were having a lot of fun! I agree that it is a stupidly easy fight but Saurfang is also like the champs in ToC (well TOGC after the nerf) as you have to use your utility spells/abilities in order to make it work. If you stand there and just pewpew then you won't get anywhere. Like a hunter who doesn't put frost traps or doesn't feign death when a blood beast is almost upon them.

Arex wrote:

I have had similar arguments (but not as heated as yours sounds) with our GM as he wouldn't switch to Arcane :)

Last night I had a PuG weekly run. It was Jaraxxus. Pretty straightforward and simple, although some of the puggies died at the worms cause they fail.
After we downed the beasts, a cloth item dropped and one of the puggies druid wanted to roll on it as Mains Spec (he was boomkin). The raid leader, wich I suppose was guild leader of 4 puggies there, said he couldnt roll on it cause it was cloth, not leather.
Now, although I didnt wanted to roll on it, I thought that rather odd. I mean, you want to make that rule on your guild run, its your and your guildies freaking problem. Now, in a PuG? So, I voiced my opinion. And the raid leader flipped on me, saying that Main Spec rolls means you can only roll on your primary armor type and that I was a moron and what not.
But, what really made me /facepalm was the boomkin agreeing with him. Instead of saying "no, you jackass, this is a pug and I`m entitled to roll for it since you never said anything before about that rule", he said "yeah, you`re right".
Tsc, I feel sorry for that guild and all druids on guilds like that. I`m really really sorry...

Heh, if you think that was bad Brisin.

I played boomkin in BC when we had 0 leather gear outside of t6 content that was actually good for us. So most of the times I was in cloth straight stealing it from the clothies. The QQ was immense.

I swear, caster gear was so much better when it was still spell power and healing power. Being able to say "This is for healing, because it has healing power and this is for casters because it has spell power." Much easier.

Now I sit there and a cloth piece drops and every ******* caster in the game wants it. Mind you it says Haste/Spirit but ****. WE ALL NEED IT NOW!

Feels good to rant.

I dunno, I really cant understand why ppl have to act like that. I mean, if Blizzard didnt wanted us to wear cloth, they would make it unwearable (does that word even exist?) for us.
Its just plain stupid, tbh.
