I get it. But your previous post seemed like you couldn't understand a guy (or girl) wanting to put any effort into how they dress. I was simply pointing out the rationale for doing so.

Women like a well-dressed man. I think that's enough of a rationale for me.

The thing is you will always be an idiot, but an idiot in a suit. Smart women can spot poser like you easily, just saying.

Nah, more like I don't understand putting effort in that level of small detail. Smiley: grin

Kao needs to check his pm's more often... I sent him one around 1pm about posting a survey and he still hasn't responded. I is impatient.

Looks like an advanced version of the one where you add hydrochloric acid to sugar.

That's quite the assumption, Theo. Are you implying that people who don't exercise and care about fashion are slobs with no confidence?

I don't exercise and I don't care what I'm wearing, but my confidence in fine. I don't have to wear a suit to feel confident. I know I'm awesome. Smiley: waycool

That's fine. But basically it's the difference between a kid banging on a pan with a wooden spoon and a full orchestra playing Mozart, or Bach, or Vivaldi. Maybe not that drastic of a difference, but yeah.

Never said you had to wear a suit to feel confident in who you are. Confidence, though, comes from two things: 1) knowing you're attractive, or 2) knowing you have other things to bring to the table.

I prefer to have both. Some people don't care, and I don't fault them, as I've said before. My dad still wears pleated khakis and brown loafers with a navy canvas belt and a black watch band. I would never wear that, but that's what he feels comfortable wearing, so more power to him.

Self-confidence comes from believing yourself to be right. The reason dressing well makes you confident in yourself is because you believe you look attractive in fine clothes, and the attention you're getting is providing the confirmation you need to keep believing it.

Fact of the matter is, you could wear @#%^ all and you'd still get attention from ladies. As long as you believe that you're right in what you do and say, you'll have confidence in yourself. Just make sure it's always merited, otherwise confidence turns to arrogance. Smiley: tongue

What I'm saying is that you're right. Believing you're attractive makes you confident. Getting positive attention enhances that confidence. Doesn't matter what you wear, or how you look, though.

Edit: For the record, I think you're attractive. For a man. No ****, etc. You've got good genes.

A poser is a kid like you who dress fancy like a man but work as a clerk in an Apple store at minimum wages, don't even have a car and drink Zinfandel. The lady dump you after discovering the fraud that you are and the little "pipi", then you are back at Zam and Warcraft. Welcome back.

I pick idiot and poser

Really Raw, you're fishing for ********* a little too obviously. I don't know why you're so focused on Theo's ***** but I'm sure that just googling "*****" or "sexy *****" is going to get you results much quicker than obsessing over Theo's ***** in this thread will.

What's it with people thinking having a car is somehow equal to being grown up?

Dunno, but it's probably the same people that think having a car automatically equals absolute freedom.

Having a car kind of makes for less freedom, doesn't it?

Depends where you are and your personal view on it. Mine is that if you have a car in a large metropolitan city, then it's an additional option for mode of travel (personal vehicle, public transit, and most things in close proximity so you have walking as well), and more options equals more freedom. However, if you're in a small rural area where it's your one and only option then you're kind of chained to it for more or less everything you need to do, therefore less freedom. First one if your car breaks down, you're really not hampered if you need to get somewhere, whereas the second you're kind of screwed.

I kind of figure if you have to have something in order to do day-to-day things, then you're a slave to that something and you've lost a degree of freedom.

On the other hand, if you don't have a car and you live in a metropolitan area, you can still get everywhere you need to go without trouble so not much freedom is gained by owning a car, if you live in a small rural town and you don't have a car you're ****** and can't go anywhere without wasting hours so owning a car gets you a lot of freedom.

Yeah, I'm with Aeth on that one. I have several friends who don't have their license or a car, and they have to walk everywhere or go nowhere. Or rely on rides from others. Of course, there's nothing wrong with walking everywhere, but it definitely takes more time. Living in a rural community that has limited public transportation sucks, if you don't have a car. In Eugene, I have tons of friends without cars, and they're perfectly content with that.
