Yeesh, that's no fun. Smiley: frown

Half the time it seems people have their own internal political reasons for doing weird stuff too. Nothing like being the victim of someone else's office politics. Well I hope they pay you well at least.

If it makes you feel any better, I just got informed I was given the wrong formula for a calculation I did a while back. I don't have the numbers I need to rework things, so I have to back-calculate those from numbers I do have, and then redo the relevant number-crunching on 90-some different spreadsheets. Then take those numbers and redo histograms that might be part of the supplemental materials if this next paper ever gets off the ground. 1pm is good beer time ya? Smiley: rolleyes

1pm is a great beer time. Really great beer time. Better make it something potent as well, a nice RIS or something like that.

You should drink this. It'll be like you're drinking coffee and beer at the same time and you can tell your boss that you're just drinking espresso and you don't know why your speech has gotten all slurred either.

Did Raw get banhammered, or is there another reason why I can't see his posts?

Wooh! Are you going to be an Italian bartender or a coffee shop employee? Google is giving me conflicting results.

Also, when I try to pronounce 'barista' in American, it sounds like 'barrister' which has me imagining you wearing a barrister's wig and robes.

Edit: Woops, forgot my signature.

Coffee shop. I'd be working at the Starbucks inside a grocery store. And it's pronounced like barrister, but with an "ah" sound instead of "er."

Wow... I have the best luck in the world. The new guy I've been seeing, just got a girlfriend. Smiley: glare He's liked this girl for like two years or so, so I'm happy for him, but at the same time I'm pretty disappointed that we can't do our thing anymore. Especially so soon after we started lol.

Also, seriously, just kind of hack your way through travelling. I'm poor. I'm even poor in Pakistan. I still get to go places...

Yeah well you have a job. And a passport. So that helps. Also, **** people. **** being a light weight. I love how I can have one stupid drink, and go from being all happy and **** to severely pissed off, because all of my friends here either can't hang out tonight or don't even answer their ******* phones. It's either the booze, or I actually liked this guy more than I realized, because i'm really upset right now, and I have no one to talk to.

Aww, if you're still awake I can come on Skype? hug

And honestly, finding a decent job in Pakistan is **** easy (if you're white). It's the same in a lot of places, even Dubai and such.

That being said, most of it has to do with the travel hacking (in my case, kind of going for every scholarship I can find). Are there no scholarships for working holidays / internships / development in the US that you could go for? I know a humanities degree isn't the best for any of those things but honestly, you still have plenty of options.

I'm doing a bit better now. Played D3 with a friend for a bit and finally beat Act I lol. I'm such a slacker. I'm still pretty upset about the situation, but not a lot I can do about it. At least he's leaving in the morning for a week, so I have some time to sort things out before we see each other again. He was pretty emphatic that he wants to still be friends, and hang out and stuff, so that's good I guess.

Part of what frustrates me is they're not even official yet, and he wants to call things off with me already. He said she doesn't want a LDR (which is stupid, because she lives 30 minutes away, it's not that far), but she's willing to wait for him until he gets his life together (whatever the **** that means). I pointed out that he could talk to her at least, and see if she minds if we still do our thing until they're official, but he said that that would be too awkward. One of my friends who I was able to talk to about this on facebook, pointed out that at least this happened sooner rather than later. So at least I didn't get too attached to him. I suppose that's true, but it's still frustrating.
