I know a guy (ridiculously pretty, nonetheless) who likes wearing neon green skinny jeans with a bright purple shirt.
Is he a punk? Cause I've known punks who wore bright purple leopard print skinny jeans and nobody who isn't a punk (Or at a gay pride parade) who'd wear anything as messed up as that.

I wish I could get some new clothes. Smiley: frown Feels like I barely have any clothes that fit right now. I'm in the awkward stage where most of them are either too big or too small.

I'm pretty lucky in that I'll be this size for a long time as long as I keep up my 20-30 minute workout ~5 days a week. It allows me freedom to drop some money on clothes that are classics (polos, chinos, designer jeans, etc) and not feel guilty about it.
I'm lucky with my genes I think, looking at my parents, grandparents and uncle and aunts I'll be pretty much the same size for the next 20-30 years without much effort whatsoever. Hell, a couple months ago someone thought my dad was in his mid thirties... (He's 59)

Yeah, I don't know what the @#%^ is going on in men's fashion. I like bright colors for shirts (and ties on suits), but they don't belong on pants.

Also, got chinos from JCrew today. They may be a little tighter than traditional, but I can pull them off. Girl that works at my local JCrew with an aussie accent said I looked great in them. Smiley: grin
Subdued colours work much much better for pants in general, but not for red because a subdued red just looks plain awful. And it doesn't work for yellow either because pants should not be yellow, or orange.

Okay, I looked up pics of chinos, and I don't see how they're different from regular pants.
Different kind of cloth, that's about it really. They feel nice though.

Nah, some kind of druggy hipster nerd person.

And what, your dad is 59? He looked like 42 or so 2 years ago... Smiley: lol

As Aeth pointed out, mainly having to do with the cloth and how they're "supposed" to fit.

Er, maybe? I don't really pay attention to bigots.

BTW, here's an example of what I wear with chinos (sub other colors like light blues, greens, and purples for the polo, navy was the one I haven't worn in a while since I wear dark-wash jeans):

Yeah, born in 1953. You can't tell that my grandma from my mother's side is 77 either. So yeah, good genes. Smiley: grin

Edit: Also, **** polos. Polos should only be worn when playing golf or hockey.

I play golf and lacrosse. I grew up in one of the richest areas in the USA. Guys I played sports with got Ferraris for their 16th birthdays. It'd be kind of weird if I didn't own/wear polos.

Most of the time I wear jeans and t-shirts, but are you really going to go out on a date in a t-shirt? That's what polos and OCBDs were made for.

Everyone that does style/fashion for guys disagrees with you, BTW.

More guys need to realize that women like a well-dressed guy. Polo + chinos + loafers = women telling their husbands/boyfriends, "see, that's how you should dress!" Smiley: tongue

(True story, I walked out of a fitting room in Nordstrom and a lady told her husband that exact thing. Felt super bad for the guy that his wife was that much of a *****. Smiley: oyvey)

You're a ******* ******. That's confidence, not having a big ****. Women don't care if you're hung like a horse (and they generally won't know unless they're actually attracted to you), as long as you're not tiny.

Grow up and stop acting like a tool.

Seriously, average-ish is better anyway.

That being said, yeah, I kinda know what you mean there, Theo. I've got one extremely well-dressed one and one who really needs to get stuff fitted or something. I might be shallow but the fashion sense makes up for sooo much... Smiley: lol

Not anymore really, they've gone down hill a lot the last 2 years. Not that that's strange at 87

I'm well aware of that, I still don't like them though.

Hell, even tiny doesn't need to be any sort of problem if you can make up for it. And a tiny one's going to be more fun than someone with a giant **** who think it makes him a god in the bedroom.

Also, I have no idea how dressing well means you're overcompensating. Maybe if Theo drove a hummer and only wore too tight pants stuffed with socks or something.

Especially since there's kind of a ceiling (depending on recipient) of where it's just too much to add anything.

While I agree with the general sentiment, @#%^ you I'm not wearing Polo to play golf. The few times I have worn them the arm sleeves were too damn tight and just left me pissed off all day to the limit range of motion and the less than subtle bicep squeeze. Smiley: mad

No offense Theo, but you don't have to dress like a preppy rich dude to dress nice as a guy. My boyfriend wears more stylish button up shirts over black tshirts and black jeans all the time (that's his casual dress) and he looks great. Hell, sometimes he dresses me when I don't know what to wear. I know that sounds weird, but it's actually pretty nice.

For going out, he tends to get a bit more adventurous. he has this velvet coat that looks like a smoking jacket, and he loves to wear it. I think he looks goofy in it, but it makes him happy and that's what is important. This is one of his more subdued attempts at dress wear, at my friend's wedding a few years back. He also loves fedoras. I'll have to see if I can find some different, more recent pics.
