By 'too much' you mean 'not enough', right?

I know, it sucks sometimes. Smiley: frown I want to be able to drink and enjoy it, instead of having to worry about being able to drive. But at least I have fun easily lol.

Alcoholic!

Hey, I made a mature choice tonight; I stayed in to finish a project instead of going out drinking with my friends. That's not being an alcoholic.

You mean you had to get that project done so your *** won't get fired because getting fired would mean no more fancy wine?

Well, it's a freelance project. I work for Apple for my 9-5, then do stuff to augment my income. Such as coaching lacrosse, freelance photography/graphic design, etc.

And yeah, you're pretty much right. That and Sunday nights are always kind of lame anyway.

Ok, correction then. Finishing project equals money to spend on fancy things (a.k.a wine).

Oh God, I love my job. It's more like continued university studies, but in more or less self study, so far (gotta love Google Scholar), although I think I will start doing actual research tomorrow. In Linux. Using at least partly open source software.

Also, everyone in my lab is young and attractive.

Protein: Pharmacophores. And stuff. One possible plan is that I will do that for 2 months and then quantum mechanics for one month.

Also went to my cook's home - his wife is a beautician and did an amazing job (photos incoming later). I talked Urdu with his daughter randomly, they thought it was really sweet. They also admired my hair, hahaha.

That explains the apple fanboydom! You're trying to subvertly advertise for them. Smiley: grin

I went to the zoo today. I saw monkeys and birds and tigers and snakes and fish and sharks and turtles and more birds and it was awesome.

Theo doesn't hate Apple. And, IIRC, he actually works for them.

Yeah, I think it's jay that hates apple. He needs to get his pc fixed already. I miss him.

I think there's a zoo here. It's probably rubbish.

Æth, I met some random person somewhere who knew Apeldoorn because of the Apenhuis. Smiley: lol

I just like stuff that works 99% of the time. I don't have time to nerd out and try to make my **** work together. I want to just do the thing I want to do. And Apple does that.

No, it was jay. He's a rabid anti-Apple guy. I can at least admit that I own a PC and I like it for what I use it for (gaming, nothing else), but he refuses to admit that anything that gets designed in Cupertino is worthwhile.

But I run into that a lot with Microsoft in my backyard. I wear Apple shirts to the gym (which is directly across the street from Microsoft's campus) and I get a few dirty looks.

Then again, at least half of the Microsoft employees use Apple machines (and more use the iPhone/iPad). It's generally the cool ones that do and the really nerdy guys that refuse.

The only objection I have to apple products is that it seems like you can get a similar product from Windows for cheaper that works just as well. At least when it comes to PC's. You can pry my ipod from my cold dead hands. I've tried using other MP3 players with WMP, and blech.

I've got a fake hackintosh? As in, it just pretends to run OSX but doesn't really.

In other news, I am very much considering doing a more long-term project here - i.e. coming back next year to do more work.

Apenheul, not apenhuis. And if that place didn't cost almost €20 I'd go there sometimes. Monkeys are badass.

The rabid Apple haters are as retarded as the rabid Apple fans who think nothing Apple does can be wrong.
