According to some random map I found on the internet you're 13 hours ahead of us. But we're on daylight savings time now, so if you guys don't do that it's 12 hours.

Yeah, that's what I said. That's pretty hefty, actually.

I kinda used to think career relevant places are all GMT+1 or later. Heh.

Yeah, I think I thought that was what you were saying. The mind... it's not as sharp as it used to be...

Well at least you have a job. I only got up early to go check up on an application, and was then informed that while he still wanted to hire me, he wouldn't be doing hiring for another month or two and I should go check at this other place in the mean time. So I went back home and waited until they opened, and then found out that they just hired someone, but that they might be looking to hire someone else soon, and if they did, she'd call me.

I seriously hate this town.

At least you're wanted.

I sent an application to a local supermarket (need a job for the summer) and the manager called me back and said that while I was in the queue, there were about 100 applicants in front of me.

Need to find a teaching job. Need some street cred before I graduate next year.

Yes, well they say that but it's hard to know if they're being honest or just trying to be nice. That's the other thing that sucks about small towns. At least in Eugene I knew where I stood when it came to trying to find work.

In good news though, I got the lead in the pirate play!!!!! I've never gotten a lead before, I'm so excited! It's funny though, I've never heard of The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree before, but I found a decent amount of youtube videos of different productions. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!

In related news, I haven't been drinking on weekdays for the most part.

I'm scared.

It's the video games. They mess with your head; can't concentrate on a single task anymore. Always fearful of more zombies.

I went shopping today. Bought two dresses (with trousers & scarf), 4 pins, 2 brooches, 2 bangles (fancy ones), some juice and random food items for about $60.

I also got 2 guys' numbers. I never ... do that sort of thing. They helped me cross the road to buy the juice - crossing the road here is just kinda walking in between random cars... very scary.

It is the best country ever. Dubai is also cool but the weather there sucks.

The best part about the guys' numbers was that I was pretty much wearing the outfit I took the photo off, albeit my face was kinda not covered because it annoys me to talk to people when it is. Bloody Scottish accent. At least I'm starting to slip into the proper Pakistani one more and more already...?

I guess it would be if you weren't accustomed to it. I find it weirder people would stand around waiting for a light to tell them what to do when you can just go. Sounds a bit subservient to me.

I'd rather be subservient to a light than get hit by a car with a driver who isn't paying attention, but that's just me. Smiley: grin Crazy New Yorkers.

Traffic lights for pedestrians are just there for show, one crosses the road when one can do so, not when a light tells you you can.

Also: Singalong time!

Which is why cool people cross the street 25 meters from the lights. Ain't no light gonna keep me down!

Yeah, I just cross where I need to cross. Seems silly to walk up the street, wait like two minutes, cross, then walk back down the street to get to where you need to be.
