See you just need to change your point of view. They are making video games anymore, it's all a marketplace. It isn't forced online, it's a security layer to keep the RMAH more safe. That way you can use D3 to make money so you can play WoW. It's all connected! You could find a D3 bauble and be sell it so you could play WoW for a month, or download WC2 or something. Being able to chat with your friends the whole time so you seem like less of a social reject as blizzard slowly siphons your essence into their mainframe. Smiley: nod

For what it's worth, I think the multiplayer options make the game more fun. My main gripe so far is that you can't change the keybinds for your two main abilities. That annoys me a lot. I don't want to use my clicker buttons to use my abilities, I want to use the side buttons on my mouse, and my keyboard. It's especially irritating that the button to move is the same as your primary ability. Why should I have to press shift down to avoid moving while using that ability, when I could just use a different button altogether? Smiley: glare

Yeah this too. So many things about the controls that are annoying to me at this point. But I already ******* about that... Smiley: lol

I love Warcraft3.
Absolutely loved the storyline and I still play it online now and then.

I'm hoping for more storyline in D3 now. All I got so far is some prophecy I know nothing about told me to come look at a rock that crashed into a church. Storytelling in the first hour is terrible. So much lack of context, and it seems so forced. I mean my character seems to know what she's doing, but she's refusing to share the details so I have absolutely no clue what's going on. I'm hoping it gets better here shortly, or I'll be disappointed. Smiley: frown

They just made the start a mystery so you have to figure out the storyline by listening to the journals etc that you find as you adventure. They also start revealing more as you play.

Once again, you guys are taking this too seriously.
While I dislike the need to be online for D3, I understand it and I can live with it and really I've got internet pretty much wherever I am so I'm not concerned with not being able to play.
I don't have anything with the RMAH either but it's a nicer way to do something that is going to happen regardless and this way Blizz makes money off of it, I'd do the same if I was in their shoes.

As for actually playing it, it feels pretty smooth and polished. It certainly has sufficient amounts of blood, gore and zombie guts splattered all over the walls. The only thing I dislike so far (At level 10) is that it feels a little too linear at times. Of course, D2 was linear as @#%^ as well, it just felt like I could wander around more there.

EDIT: Also, Æthien#2412 if someone wants to add me.

Also, drinking De Molen's Bloed, Zweet & Tranen (Blood, Sweat & Tears). Omnomnom smoked beer, tastes like a full meal with bacon and herbs and malts and a chocolate dessert in there as well.

Honestly even if there was an offline option I wouldn't play it.

I'm having a blast playing the game, the difficulty scaling and overall polish is fantastic. I just got into Act III.

Oh I don't mind the mystery aspect of it, that's fun and all. Just the fact this seems to all make perfect sense to my character but not to me; which is a little weird. Would make more sense if my character was as clueless as I am, but being led around by people who knew what was going on or something. It's just the disconnect that's weird I suppose. I wish they could have said a bit more in the intro I guess. Fingers crossed it does make more sense soon then. Smiley: lol

Sometimes, if they're executed well enough that is, I don't mind cliffhanger endings. Cliffhanger beginnings however infuriate me to no end.

I'd play it when I didn't have internet access, or when Battle.net was down, which is exactly how I played D2.

When do you not have internet access but do have the time to game and a laptop with you? I mean, really? The only problem would be when battle.net is down but unless that happens a lot (Something I highly doubt) I don't particularly mind.

On airplanes in economy class. Also, sometimes on airports.

The only places where I /do/ have Internet are at home, at any university and at most of my friends' places.

Even on trains I don't because I'm not gonna pay for first class tickets just to get unlimited Internet access. Smiley: glare

A good part of the trains here have free internet. Not that you'd be able to properly play Diablo with those tiny, tiny fold out tables. No room to use a mouse and I'm pretty sure that just thinking of playing Diablo with the touchpad will do horribly painful things to your wrist.

Nobody slaps me in the face and lives to tell about it, except my mama. And she hasn't done that in 13 years.

Seriously, that's a hard limit for me. You can choke me, spank me, pull my hair, do loads of other things and I love it. If you slap me in the face, I am very liable to turn violent. I don't know why it's such a trigger for me, but it is. There have been several times where Miranda has attacked my face, and I've gotten too rough with her as a result. Not enough to seriously hurt her, because I know she's a cat and all, but way too rough for my own comfort level, after I've calmed down. It's the one singular thing that worries me about having kids.

I'm pretty sure he's rolling his eyes because it's a bad joke, not because he didn't get it. He's rolling his eyes because that's the appropriate response when someone deliberately misunderstands something to make a joke. Smiley: tongue

It's not like you're the only one who has that reaction, I think pretty much everyone has that aside from a few select circumstances.
