Is my kitty, isn't he pretty?

Edit: Also, drinking De Molen's Vuur & Vlam and listening to Dragonforce's Through The Fire And Flames.
Life is good.

Muslims.

I fell right in the middle of the city centre yesterday. Lots of people were super helpful (I fell 2 weeks ago in Germany, people just stared and looked insulted there), and tried to get me to sit down for a while and such. I was sure I was okay, just noticed my trousers were ripped, until I realised half an hour later that my leg was covered in blood. And there was a huge open wound. So naturally, I bought that camera (okay, seriously, I need that camera to take pictures to claim a scholarship and a bleeding leg won't keep me from getting a scholarship). Then I found out that this guy I know bought the exact same camera yesterday, too. He was at that party.

Camera is this.

Then this morning I failed a maths exam because I slept when I was planning to revise (and nearly missed the exam because I overslept). I might have just about passed it; I should still get a B in that course, but might have to resit the exam in August and fly in for that. Ugh.

Just now, I got banana boxes and had to wear one as a hat because apparently, I didn't have enough arms to carry them all.

Cute camera. Also, what's up with you falling over everywhere? Smiley: tongue

On House, it usually indicates neurological problems. I already got screened for brain cancer 4 years ago... Smiley: frown

And did you think I got a proper camera? I mean, you know me. I wouldn't. I've got other priorities, like a Kindle and a tablet and a spaceship.

It's a basic, simple P&S camera. I would never even consider paying for one but it'll be able to take decent enough pics for vacations and whatnot. The only thing I wonder is if it has a manual mode, I sort of doubt it but that'd be nice if you know a little more about photography.
#15534 May 15 2012 at 12:00 PM Rating: Good
I don't, and it's not really high on my priority list (although photography seems to be one of those things everyone around me is into).

Shoes. How do I make my feet look... not fat and swollen?

Cut them off at the ankles.

I'm big into exercise, but I can't think of any regiment for slimming feet down that isn't incredibly hazardous. I mean, you can tightly wrap them and force them down, but tha can be dangerous.

The shoes look nice, slippers I don't think I've ever seen a pair that didn't make my toes itch just looking at them. :P

My ankles are super skinny in reality, it's just that I don't know how to take pictures. Smiley: lol

The shoes were £2.50 and £6.00.

Yeah, your feet don't look fat and swollen. Smiley: tongue But if you're feeling insecure about it, drinking more water might help?

Cheap shoes are cheap.
The last 3 pairs of shoes I've bought have all been over €100.

I once went into an expensive shop to buy shoes, still bought ones for £15... and those lasted me all winter.

Also, I can see DER TERK ER DEERBRU in my FB newsfeed. As in, literally that. OOT people.

I have three kinds of shoes. My running shoes, which I admittedly splurge on because I enjoy running and are $100 (though I got a lovely discount and only paid $80), my regular shoes which look kind of dressy (I'm pretty sure I mentioned that my casual clothes tend to be dress pants and shirts more often than jeans and tshirts, which if I'm dressed that way I'm wearing my running shoes anyway ...) and were like $50, and about twelve pairs of combat boots which were free.

I have sneakers (which I got for free), winter ballerina type shoes (with fur lining!) which were £15, these 2 new pairs, platform sandals which I got for free, as well, monkey slippers (THEY LOOK LIKE MONKEYS!) which I got as a present, and my wedding shoes, which are 3" heels, I think they cost like £20 and it's impossible for me to wear them for a full day.

Also, I got some £35 or so shoes from the tableeghi jamaat, but they're not comfortable.

I have way more shoes than a straight man should own. Probably around 15 pairs.

To be fair though, I have things like boat shoes, driving shoes, hiking boots, and dress shoes (wingtips, oxfords, etc).

I've got my nice dress shoes, my old Bjorn Borg sneakers that are starting to fall apart and need replacing, my ridiculous army boots that take 5 minutes to get on and are horribly impractical but look awesome, a pair of cowboy boots that are awesome to walk in and a pair of wannabee allstars that just can't seem to fall apart even though they're 5+ years old.

Edit: Theo, if I could afford all the pretty shoes I see I'd probably have more than that. Unfortunately my wallet isn't that full Smiley: frown

The shoes I wear on a regular basis: My regular sneakers which I wear most of the time, my Birkies which I wear when it's warm enough to wear sandals, my Sketcher shape ups which can pass for dress shoes, and... that's about it. I have loads of other shoes which I wear from time to time, but those are the three that I normally wear.
#15550 May 15 2012 at 3:27 PM Rating: Good
I normally just wear my fur lined ballerina shoes. I can't in Pakistan, though - fur lining and tropical weather don't really go together, thus the shoe shopping.

Also, praying is horrible with an open knee. It's like I'm doing acrobatics to make it work. Technically I can just sit on a chair but that'd be weird and I'm able to pray normally almost, so I should at least try. It's still kinda taking the enjoyment out of it for me right now.

If my wallet were as full as I wanted, my average watch would cost over $20,000. So I hear you. But luckily, there's some amazing stuff to be had out there for nice prices (see Citizen watches, Tissot watches, etc) so I can satisfy my vanity by looking good without paying ******** of money.

Also a lesson I learned recently: tailoring helps everything. Except for shoes.
