They did. It cost a lot so they took it out of later generations.

So, apparently some guy in Spain got hit by lightning. In the nuts.

Ouch.

Casinos: @digg, I was talking more having a few casinos in major cities, especially areas with already high tourism, such as Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Galveston, Corpus Christi, etc.

WoW redone models: Dwarves are finished. They just don't want to only redo one model and are waiting on the others before they send them live. The issue is, since they know they wouldn't make the MoP launch anyways, they're going to stick the new models on the backburner for a while so they can focus on the more important things.

Magic Wand: Oh good, I needed a Mother's Day gift.

Zombie Apocalypse: Would the choice of weapon be affected by whether or not the zombies are fast/slow? And I'm pretty sure there was a board on one of the *chans dedicated to surviving a zombie apocalypse. If I remember correctly, the ideal situation was essentially what lolgaxe described. An additional benefit, though, would be having your base in a rural area. Less population density automatically means less zombies.

Edit: Found it. /zom/ on 7chan. This board is flagged as SFW, though I'd take that with a grain of salt knowing the *chans.

******** lightning: No me gusta.

As an island dweller near several large, ******* huge, military bases I feel my chances when the ZA happens will be good.

Once the islands have been cleansed, say a few months tops, life would go back to normal.

Well except for all the wreckage and what not.

Zombies can't fly planes.

And Japanese tourists / zombies will be the first to die.

Too soon?

If I lived on an island with several military bases and a zombie apocalypse broke out, I'd probably try to get as far away from the military bases as possible. I've seen enough movies to know that when stuff like that happens, the military did it.

I've found that buildings are built tougher in higher population areas than they are in rural areas. Security measures are also easier to get. Pretty much every business around here has those rolling gates on them, so stealing reacquiring and installing those would be a much easier task. There's also distance to consider. Rural areas the buildings are spaced out farther, which means you'll have to travel further for supplies, even if it is to loot your neighbors' homes.

The initial outbreak will be bad, but they'll soon spread out looking for food. So pretty much if you're in one of the higher density areas, if you can make it through the first three or four months then your chances of continued survival increases while the further out you go your chances start to decrease. Especially if the zombies we're dealing with have herd mentality and that huge group all head in one direction towards those rural areas.

Biggest issue would be getting food and such, but if you have a multiple-story building you can make an impromptu farm by pretty much taking out the walls and ceiling of one of the corner rooms and turning it into a greenhouse. Of course, you'll want to do this well before the zombies start attacking, but once you have it set up you can at least have a sustainable and pretty safe source of food. You could combine it with a rainwater collection point and be very self-sustaining.

That's what I tell my wife, anyway. She won't let me take a sledge hammer to any of the rooms. Smiley: frown

Rauchbier smells like crispy bacon, charcoal and malts, tastes like it too. Or maybe it's more like sausages on a barbeque.

Basically, it's a barbeque in a beer. Kind of weird and I'm not entirely sure if I like it or not.

Edit: Lolgaxe, why take a sledgehammer to the wall? rooftop farm go!

Because I have a ***** and wonton destruction is fun. Smiley: grin

Also you can continue to grow food in an enclosed greenhouse better than just a rooftop farm during bad weather. A lot easier to control the environment that way, but mostly the phallic symbol wonton destruction thing.

Zombies have a taste for Asian food? I had no idea.

Fortunately for me, no one on this planet likes Scottish, Irish, English, or German food.

Remember when Zombies were slow and weak and still terrifying?

Now they have frickin' super powers.

Well ya, they're in an arms race with the armchair vigilantes of the world.

"I'd just run 'em over with my pickup"

"If you got a big enough shotgun"

"just lock and bar the door!"

They gotta get scarier once everyone has figured out how to beat them. Smiley: nod

I mean what's scarier, the mindless shuffling undead, or a legion of relentless lock-picking super geckos!?

It's a fine line though, if they make them too awesome, people will start to wonder why exactly they don't want to be a zombie.

I think the no free will thing kind of makes that an easy decision no matter how many superpowers zombies get.

Edit: Also, I found Duvel 6packs on sale for €5.50 (Normal price ~€6.50 - 7.00) Needless to say, I bought 2 and as may be expected I'm now rather tipsy.
