Expensive pilsners are also best served chilled. I prefer pale lagers and according to Michael Jackson (the writer, not the musician), pale lagers are best served well chilled, at around 7ºC, which requires refrigeration, unless you've got a wine cellar and live in a very cold country (my parents' wine cellar is not 7ºC).
Mostly, though, I prefer my beer refrigerated because it's more refreshing. Same reason I prefer to drink cold water.
