I'm partial to Dino and Bing myself, but pretty much yeah.

In case anyone's interested, the Diablo III beta is currently open to anyone with a Battle net account. Still not sure if it's a bug or they're stress-testing, since there hasn't been an official announcement yet.

YARLY?!

Both are good, in my opinion, although Frank is my main man.

What do you mean why do I say that? I say it because it is true. Many confirmed reports of people getting on, although I think people crashed the servers now. Like I said, not sure if it was a fluke or intentional by Blizzard.
It's possible Blizz shut down the servers to correct their mistake.
EDIT: Apparently, blizz introduced 'starter edition' (similar to WoW's F2P model) which is available to everyone, that's why anyone could log on;
Post on TL about it.

Frozen Colorado cows may be blown up because they can't cut them apart with chainsaws on federal land.

Really the title says it all. Just my surreal WTF moment of the day. Smiley: lol

I apparently got an invite last week Thursday, MoP invite came through Friday.

Guess I should check my e-mail more often... Smiley: lol

Well if it makes you feel better I probably won't participate in either one. Smiley: grin

I want to save my MoP experience until the expansion is released, and D3 is so close now I'm really debating if it's worth downloading the beta, and then doing the live version in like 3 weeks. That and I'm too involved in DA:O to want to spend my time elsewhere atm. Smiley: wink

Diablo 3 beta was useful for me in deciding that I'm not going to get the game, or at least not until I can find it for like $20 in a couple years or so. The first act just didn't intrigue me enough to warrant the $60.

I really enjoyed the D3 beta. That being said, it's the first bit of the first act. Play through to blood raven on D2 and I'm not sure how intrigued I'd be. D3 certainly has more complexity then D2 up to that point.

True, but even not looking at story, and just focusing on gameplay, it seems too repetitive for me. I've never really played a hack'n'slash dungeon crawler like Torchwood or Diablo before, so maybe I just don't like the genre itself. And the multiplayer was essentially nonexistant. Running through the beta with other people felt like running through a heroic dungeon towards the end of WotLK: speed-run, kill everything as fast as possible, get to the end, collect loot. Nobody ever said a word throughout.

Playing through the beta just wasn't fun for me, and I think it's just that I don't like that type of gameplay too much. It was enough for me to decide that I'm not getting the game at first.

Diablo 2 is stupidly repetitive yet strangely addicting. If D3 can entertain me for even half the time D2 has it'll be more than worth the 50 bucks.
Hours of hacking and slashing through hordes of zombies with The Misfits blaring from the speakers and I'm a happy camper.

Try playing the demon hunter. I found the ranged playstyle using traps a lot of fun even in the beta.

The Demon Hunter was actually my first character, followed by Witch Doctor, Wizard, and then Monk.
