Aeth, are the windmills still responsible for regulating water levels? Because that would be hilarious.

I hate living near the beach... too many tourists. I'd rather be by a pool, tanning my already tan self. Or swimming... Swimming in a pool doesn't make my cheeks burn (swimming at the beach with the sun causes me to get sunburned just under my eyes. I hate it).

At least you don't get burned all over. Damn my german/scottish heritage. :(

Hey, I've got some german/irish heritage in me too... It's my filipina side that keeps me from getting completely burned lol

I feel your pain. I'm English, French, Irish and Scottish. I'm so white I glow in the dark. Okay it's not quite that bad, but my legs DO reflect the sun. I'm serious, I have never ever gotten a sun burn on my legs, even when sitting out in direct sunlight for several hours with shorts on. It just doesn't happen. I gave up on hating my pale skin years ago. I embrace it now and am thankful for an excuse to stay out of the sun so I don't get premature wrinkles. Smiley: grin

My brother burns, but doesn't tan. I tan, but it takes much longer for me to burn.

Since this is a druid thread, I thought this would be appropriate.

If you haven't seen any of Tosan's videos, I highly recommend you check them out. The serious ones are good if you like good PvP videos, and the funny ones appeal to my puerile sense of humor in combination with my love of how ridiculous WoW is sometimes.

Tosan's Turbo Nerd Arena is especially funny.

Just realized that none of the other threads on the front page of the class board even has a second page, yet we're on 286. Smiley: lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinderdijk They're still active, but pretty much just as a tourist attraction.
Also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ir.D.F._Woudagemaal which is the largest still operational steam powered pumping station in the world, nicknamed the cathedral of steam and is still active when there's very high water although it's only capable of pumping up a tenth or so of the water that a modern pumping station can.

I don't really see the fun in sitting near water/in a boat and holding a stick while waiting for fish.

Fishing isn't supposed to be fun, Aeth, it's a social event without the pressure that goes with a party/night out.

Aha, so you could just as well go to a bar with the very same people and have just as good a time only with more beer? Or get a barbeque and eat meat instead of waiting for fish?

Beer is cheaper when you're out fishing. And you get to see the nature and stuff.

Same cost as when you're barbequing. And I get to see nature when I step outside my door. Forest even, which is much better than water.

Fishing can also be a meditative event when you do it solo. And yes, you could barbecue on your own as well, but it's not meditative in the same way.

I think I got the meditating covered, it usually involves beer and doom music.

Can it get better than this?

As if Dave Grohl wouldn't be cool enough as Foo Fighters' frontman, he looks even cooler on drums.

He's a better drummer than frontman imo. He's still a pretty damn good frontman though.
The guy is ******* talented, he's got the looks and he's a really nice guy. He pretty much has it all. The *******.

Also, Lemmy rocks.

On another note, fishing is awesome.
It's just so damn relaxing on a nice summerday to sit by a lake, or a river or whatever, have something nice to drink and listen to some music.
And if there's a possibility to make a campfire and prepare the fish you've caught, even better.

Seriously, what the hell is the appeal in fishing?

Also, check the band on the run video in the related list, he pulls it off pretty damn well.

On a sidenote, I managed to burn my finger on the pan tonight and while I originally didn't think much of it since it's happened before, I've changed my mind now. It's 3 hours later and my finger still hurts like a ***** when I take it out of the water for more than a minute.

And after you catch one, to eat it you have to gut and clean the thing. That's disgusting. Smiley: disappointed

Have you been sitting with the finger in water for three hours? Smiley: dubious

That might be why it's hurting.

I don't get it either. It's exciting when you actually have a fish on the line, and you're reeling it in. But the wait, omg the wait is soooo boring. My dad was really big into fishing, and I was when I was young, but it hasn't been something I've enjoyed since I became a teen.
