I didn't quit. I retired, and if you follow any American sports at all you'll know this just means I'm on a hiatus.

I actually did my first random on my druid yesterday. I figured getting into HoR, FoS and PoS for a battered hilt is much easier done as a healer than as a dps with a 15 minute queue vs 3 minutes.

I've decided to focus all my energy into making as much gold as I possibly can. So far... 5k gold in the past 4 days. I think I'm on the right track.

So it begs the question then...

Is this an "addicted to the game and can't quit / Brett Farve" kinda thing or a "need to sort out all my mistresses / Tiger Woods" kinda thing? ;-)

Go for it. As long as you don't ever start to feel squishy you'll be fine.

I've been doing all Shifting since ToC came out.

Plus with more Agility your armor will go up.

38k hp seems kinda low to me though.
But I'm spoilt and used to 42k+ unbuffed paladin tanks. (seriously, every tank these days is a paladin tank)

True but in ICC much of that health is unneeded, unlike ToGC where it was needed for Gormok and Anub.

Granted this may change when hardmodes or even the later wings become available but by then you will have the better loot from regular modes to buff up your HP as well.

Plus since Blizz nerfed avoidance and changed bosses damage output to be smoother avoidance actually becomes better as huge gibbing hits or 2-3 attacks landing in a 2 GCD time frame aren't an issue or likely to be come one.

As always when gearing a tank the answer to how much HP I need, the answer is always enough to survive that 2 GCD time span before being healed back up to full health.

That threshold is a bit lower in ICC for right now than it was in ToGC.

That's just it, though. I'm feeling squishy already. So squishy I won't give up my Black Heart for the EOT trinket because I'll lose 126 stamina. It's a little pathetic when lesser geared Paladins have more health than me, 10% more parry, 40% more block and only 20% less dodge than me. I know blocks aren't guaranteed full blocks, but it's sure as hell better than Savage Defense, isn't it?

So they have more health, more mitigation and better aggro management. I'm sure glad I rolled the wrong class for this.

Edit: Also, 25k ding me, grats etc.

I wouldn't necessarily say they have more mitigation *or* avoidance. Their global avoidance may be higher but because it's segmented into multiple smaller parts it has a different effect on their combat tables.

I take less damage than a similarly geared paladin in ICC 10. It's plausible that somehow he ends up with more uptime than me, but even just looking at things like Saber Lash damage (since that hits both of us at the same time every time) I still take a lot less. So either I'm avoiding more attacks or simply taking less damage off the top. Maybe even both.

So 2 ICC clears made easy in 2 days all because of Boomkins. If you didn't already know you can tank Saurfang at the edge and when the adds spawn a boomkin simply pushes them off the side. I see a hotfix inc but its a nice easy way to deal with the adds for the time being.

I would never let the GF drive in the winter.

Her mind would explode.

Snow, black ice and all that is a bit out of her area of knowledge.

My gal did great really, she made it to pick me up just fine, then I drove home. I think it scared her more than a little though, I got to hear all about it on the return trip. They don't really plow the roads around here, no salt trucks, and there are plenty hills. Not a good combo.

Things got better after we stopped off at this Japanese place to grab her and the little one a quick bite to eat. Food makes everything better.

What kind of place do you live...?
We have near zero snow and not a whole lot of ice around here but they plow and dump salt on the roads like the world's going to end all goddamn winter.

It's a very liberal city, so they don't like salt here. It's not good for the fishies apparently; so they use sand instead. (Never mind the fact the waterway through town is heavily polluted already... :p) Sand doesn't really work very well; and the large rocks crack windows for the next 2 months till they can scrape it all up.

We have a couple dozen sand trucks/plows for a metro area of 2 million. The west side of the city has a ridge running through it. Meaning many of those commuting have to drive over it to get home. Added to that the gorge funnels cold air from the east side of the state right into the town. Meaning episodes of freezing rain are pretty common in winter.

Until they put this in I would have been stuck at work until the roads cleared. One of the gals I work with keeps supplies here so she can sleep in the office if needed during the winter. She's had to do it a few times before.

IMO putting a major hospital on a hill, which is inaccessible to ambulances during a storm, isn't exactly win...

P.S. Looks like EJ may finally be getting a druid raid-healing guide. It's 25-man heavy, like most of their stuff, but it looks pretty good. :-)

In my endeavor to make as much gold as I can I've done quite well.

6k gold over 3 days.

Doing this on a small server with a raiding population that is pretty much null beyond my guild and another is quite a feat. I did also get myself a personal farmer for titanium.

Oh life is good.

Edit: Protein, my grandma lives in Tigard and my aunt lives in King City. I cannot even imagine what it's like for people to drive in Portland when it gets snowy.

Is this where I say, "Arex please come back, it will be magical again and I promise to stop beating you and sleeping with your sister if you will just be my special little crit chicken again?"

Or should that be a PM?

These social nicety questions confuse me.

It's fine here until you get to raunchy cyboring.
Although that would work here too if you want to do the whole raunchy cyboring in a public place thing.

Hmn, once I get my reserves back up I'll begin on my Saronite-to-Titanium trade again. Every bonus transmute is 20g down my pocket.

Finally got to play for the first time in almost a week yesterday. Holidays were busy, so I hadn't done more then put up new auctions. Nothing like Arex's gold yields, but I'm not complaining. :-)

Guild was quiet, so it was random herioc grinding time! Yay for 600dps hunters who leave half way through Nexus for "more better ammo." Wanted to politely point out that lesser ammo might not be the problem; but I was too nice once again, and waited patiently. It's all good, cause the DPS warrior was laying down the smack-talk pretty good at that point. Also got myself into the weekly raid. Naxx was fun, and I gots me frist embelms. ;-)

Bump to congratulate Aeth on his 10k posts. Welcome to the men's club.

Even if you're a dirty, stinkin' hunter and not a druid. Smiley: motz

Been trying to find a Naomi Watts photo worthy of replacing Kate. Watts is a close second to Beckinsale on my list of hotties, but I haven't been able to find a dirty-cute picture yet.

Must... keep... searching!
