I'm not 100% sure, but I think most ADHD meds are derivatives of Cocaine. I know Ritalin is, but I'm not sure if that's what your taking or if it's something else.

Yeah, it is. I'm taking the generic of Ritalin, but Adderall (Which I was taking the generic of before) is made out of very similar stuff as well. There seem to be a lot of misconceptions about ADHD meds in the general public though. There is a difference between ADHD meds and street cocaine. Smiley: tongue

The ADHD drugs are all related to Amphetamine. Also :-

Quote:

Ritalin 10, Ritalin LA >< Alcohol - 1 Interaction

Interaction Severity: Moderate

Documentation: Limited

The generic Methylphenidate hydrochloride (of Ritalin 10, Ritalin LA) has its toxicity increased by Ethanol.

Precautions to take:
1. Avoid combination.

Drug Interaction Details:
Alcohol may increase the serum concentration of methylphenidate resulting in increased CNS effects of methylphenidate. Alcohol markedly increased the AUC and maximum serum concentration of methylphenidate by approximately 25% and 40%, respectively, when administered either 30 minutes before or after methylphenidate. Avoid coadministration, especially in patients with a history of alcoholism or drug dependence.

Take care with the coffee as well. The double stimulant effect can be bad and increases the risk of stroke/heart attack even in young people. Reduce the caffeine to a level where your heart isn't racing to be safe.

Heh, thanks for the info. I'm on Welbutrin as well, for an antidepressant, and back when I was taking just it, I would occasionally drink and I'd be fine. This is despite the warning label telling me not to drink. I don't drink a lot though, I never have really. I drink maybe once every 2-3 months and when I do it's always for the purpose of getting drunk to have fun and relax. I could stop drinking altogether and be fine though. I rarely get a hankering for it.

And yeah, I'm not doing the coffee thing again. That was both scary and uncomfortable.

Question: What would happen if I was taking Isotretinoin and decided to have a couple of beers, or hell, any of the other stuff I'm not allowed because of this god damned drug that's also the most awesome thing ever. I was under the impression that I was supposed to avoid this stuff because my liver wouldn't be able to handle processing the drug as well as the other crap, but I'm starting to think that it'll just interfere with how well the drug works.

I remember back when I was younger I used to have a pharmacist friend.

Cocaine is silly and pointless.

Adderall is just straight up amphetamine - we just used to get it right out of the lab, but you get it from street vendors dealers everywhere in Europe.

The main reinforcement with alcohols is that they both dehydrate you, so you'll have to drink EVEN MORE water.

Also, a couple of days ago I was looking up the flavourings in Rohypnol (because it tastes awesome, okay?) and apparently it's illegal in the US. Lulz.

It's most well-known as being a date rape drug in the US.

They must be delicious, I've never had any complaints from the Roofie Coladas I've made, that's for certain.

To be fair, it's rather useless as a medication.

I mostly just want to reproduce the taste because it's like delicious candy.

Unrelated:

What is it used for as a medicine? O.o We get told over here how it disorients you, possibly making you fall asleep/pass out and not remember anything from the night before when you wake up. And after affects of possible sterilization. Maybe other stuff too, that's just what I remember off the top of my head.

It's a sedative. Original use was deep sedation, but I'm guessing it found its way into OTC pharmacy because it also works wonders against insomnia, anxiety attacks and softening the crash after a drug high.

It's a controlled substance, you can still get it (or in some countries generics which I assume don't taste nice) with a prescription.

It's used for insomnia, anxiety, ...basically for me it's the only sedative of that sort (i.e. benzodiazepine) that doesn't make me suicidal, so if I needed one I'd be demanding Rohypnol just because I don't want to end up trying to kill myself because they gave me Valium. D:

Honestly, though, I've never met anyone who had a prescription for it that wasn't faked. Mostly it's a street drug and makes people feel good. I'd say that's much more common than people putting it into strangers' drinks in bars.
I don't know why I would be needing benzos, though.

Man, I would so tell them to get bent (politely); I'll go to dinner with them to celebrate, but they're buying their own ****. If I didn't have the idea to take them all out to dinner, I ain't paying for it.

I don't know how to ice skate.

There's not much reason to learn down here.

This.

They should be inviting Kali out, not the other way around. I mean, it's not like she won the lottery. Good grades, to my knowledge, don't come with a monetary reward as well. If they did, I'd be studying more.

They used to, when I still got an allowance.

Ice skating is nice. I went on Boxing Day. Had half Egypt hitting on me from outside the rink (it was a public outdoors one).

In off-topic news, I just did the Dragon Soul LFR thingies and while my Shaman and Hunter both won something on their runs, my Druid didn't get anything.

Gotta love a group where I'm the only Feral Druid and one of the five Hunters rolls and wins the polearm.

Yeah, the supposed "randomness" of the loot is pretty messed up. My mage has done LFR once, during the first week. Out of 4 bosses, she won 3 pieces of gear. Only one of which was a tier piece though. My priest has done it twice, once the first week and once the second week, and hasn't won a damn thing. The second week, there was two other priests in my group I think? One of the priests won the roll on two different pieces of tier gear and won a couple other upgrades too I think. The other was a guildie of mine, and he won one tier piece at least. I got nada.

I know random is random, and Blizz doesn't really have a way to make loot distribution equal, but ****.

Also, has a really ****** conversation with my parents last night. I'm still pretty upset about it. John is having issues with two lady friends, and he is understandably coming to me and venting about it. I then get frustrated, because both of them are being flat out malicious towards him and at the same time, trying to encourage him to leave me because I don't treat him right. And also because I'm stuck down here and can't do anything about it without appearing passive aggressive. My mom could tell I was upset when she got home, and she wanted to know why. So I told her. I didn't really expect to get any sympathy from her, because she doesn't get the poly thing and she doesn't like John to begin with. Ironically, she thinks I can do better, just like these women think he can do better (namely, them).

In walks my step-dad, and the conversation shifts to him asking me questions about poly. He clearly doesn't understand it either. Apparently my mom provides everything he needs in a mate and he has no need or desire for anyone else. That's great for him and her. Because of this, he thinks that I shouldn't "settle" and find someone who does meet all my needs instead of going around sleeping with other people. Then he wanted to know what we would do if we had kids. I told him I didn't see any reason to change at that point, and he expressed his belief that that would be an unhealthy environment for children to be raised in, and that if I decided to continue my lifestyle after having kids, he didn't think I should raise my kids "unsupervised." And that he would do everything in his power to change that. Basically, he would fight to get my kids taken away from me. So yeah, joy... My mom didn't verbally agree with him, so I don't think she feels quite that strongly about it, although she didn't say anything against him either. I posted a journal about it on fetlife, and got a lot of support and encouragement there, which helped. It's still really upsetting though. Yeah, he's not my dad, but I've known the man since I was 13, and I love him like a dad, and I know he loves me like a daughter. So this really hurts. =/

Tell him he's being an ignorant *** and that he should butt out of your love life pronto.

At least, that's what I'd do. He's got no business telling you how to raise your future kids.
