Pigtails, I had someone like that - I paid her about $20 an hour. Well, she got paid about that much, actually not by me. She actually said I probably have ADHD, but mostly it was just really useful anyway. We met twice a week and checked up on my progress; sometimes at my place, sometimes in cafés.

Well, I don't want to pay someone to do it. Unless it's a therapist that I'm already paying or something. I don't really have the money for that kind of thing. =x

The USA really needs to move away from the primitive health insurance system you guys have now.

Yeah... taxes seems to be the worst swear word ever to Americans. And if all of the money they do collect through taxes isn't spent on the military than that money's wasted.

Americans are ******* *************

I read somewhere that the "war on terror" thing costs the US $1,000 every second.

This counter seems to confirm that.

Beats spending money to help the 17% of your own population who are living beneath the poverty line.

On a sidenote, I wish the numbers on my bank account did that.

Me too. I'd go to sleep right now just to see how rich I'd be once I woke up.

Gaxe, Nor, this is for you:

I'd take the train to Amsterdam, walk to De Bierkoning and then be all "I want one of each beer you have in stock please."
And then I'd have to go rent a truck and buy a house with a beer cellar.

I don't quite get the terrorists either, I mean, America is perfectly capable of ******* itself up without outside help.
Although that war on terror thing certainly didn't help much, financially. And since it's pretty much impossible to "win" a war against an enemy who thrives upon you attacking them I don't get the whole war thing either.

In short, people are retards.
#12390 Jan 11 2012 at 11:49 AM Rating: Good
The funny thing is, the main terror organisations people are always on about (Al Qaida & Taliban) don't have that many people. A few thousand for Al Qaida, a bit more for the Taliban - I think it was 7-8k in Pakistan, more in Afghanistan.

And most acts of terrorism in the US are actually from completely unrelated sources (I can't remember where I found the statistics on this, though).

But yeah, get some sort of decent social policy, people! Also, taxes.

Just out of curiosity, would the Americans here be willing to pay more taxes for things like socialized healthcare and well, trying to get America out of the mind boggling debts it has.

Yup.

But I'm not one of those people who really gets riled up by taxes either way. More, less... meh... whatever, just for goodness sakes match your spending closer to what you bring in already. Smiley: oyvey

Seriously sucks if you have a problem and can't go to the doctor because you can't afford it.
I completely get why people want a small government, really. I just think that one of the most important duties of a government is that they provide a safety net for their citizens and that they do their best to make sure that the population is healthy, can get an education and can afford the basic needs like rent, food and clothes.

You crazy Euros, all mixed up! How can rent and food possibly be more important than liberty and freedom!? LIVE FREE OR DIE!!!!

*sigh* I love us sometimes... Smiley: lol

I'm pretty sure the only "freedom" I'm giving up is that I'm paying more taxes. Something I'm pretty much fine with.
Also, I get the freedom of smoking a joint, going to a prostitute and marrying a guy in return. Also a guarantee that I won't be unable to pay my hospital bills.

So, yeah, sure sucks I lost that freedom.

On a sidenote, I prefer the Rochefort 10 over the St Bernardus Abt 12. The Rochefort is a bit sweeter and more sugary and I like that in beers although the St. Bernardus is probably still the second best quadruple I've ever had. I'm kind of curious about the Westvleteren 12 as that's about the only quad I haven't had yet but paying 10-15 euro for a 33cl bottle is rather silly when it's definitely not 5 times as good as the Rochefort or the St. Bernardus.
Quadruples aren't my favourite style of beer anyway, really. Still a great beer style though.

And then I got shown a picture of a crossdressing man (as was visible from the skirt and stockings) bending over with a doll's head sticking from his ***** (Gratz Pigtails, this image is now also in your feed!)

I think I need another beer.

Oh and yes, this message totally warrants a triple post.

Yeah, the conservatives in our country have it completely *** backwards. They are perfectly fine with the government controlling who gets married, what people do in their free time, how people have sex, whether or not they can prevent or end unwanted pregnancies, etc., but heaven forbid we give unfortunate people "hand outs" or raise taxes on anybody regardless of whether or not they can afford it.

I seriously wonder if conservatives know that the wealthiest 1% of Americans pay less taxes now than they did during the Reagan years thanks to Bushie Jr.'s tax cuts?

To be fair, people in Europe still don't go to the hospital when they should, as evidenced by my mother who delayed her hospitalisation for gallstones by 3 months because she'd had more than 3 months off in 2011 and didn't want more time off work.
