In Brazil, the mother gets around 12 weeks (4 during pregnancy, 8 after), cant be fired during pregnancy unless the company proves that the mother is being fired for a fair reason(like stealing or similars) , but can be fired soon after she comes back to work (it happens more than it should).
The father gets 10 or 15 days, if Im not completely wrong, but I think Im correct.
If you are unemployed, you can get some government help, but theres nothing to do with having a child or not. If you work, you get nothing from government, only deductable taxes.
Plus, if you are unemployed and is really poor, you get another small paycheck as long as you prove that your child is in a school.
So...we get nothing for having a child, we get a small paycheck if we are unemployed, another really small paycheck if we are really poor and our children are in school and the mother gets 120 days in the end of the pregnancy.
