Someone should come farm TBC raids with me.

Soloed Al'ar, Void Reaver, Rage Winterchill and Anetheron. Damn patch 4.3 and transmogrification.

Damn you, Protein! When do I start to make the phat gewld off of Inscription? After powerleveling it to 500-ish, I'm now stuck with a million glyphs in my bags and no buyers.

And a more general announcement: People who undercut by 70-80% should go die in a fire. Just saying, you don't put up a load of crap at 10g when the going price (rate? ed.) is 80g.

There is no profitable glyph market on Kazzak. There's way too many sellers for it to be worthwhile last time I tried. Prepare reposting everything 502071202471 times until you start undercutting by 80% yourself just to get rid of that sh*t.
Unless you discover a popular and rare glyph, then prapare to sell glyphs for 500+ gold a piece.

Smiley: lol

For the record I tried to warn you it was server-dependent Maz. Smiley: wink

But what Aeth said. Almost all the gold I make (seriously like 90% of it) is by selling glyphs you get through either: minor inscription research, Northrend inscription research, or those glyph books.

If cata herbs are cheap I buy a bunch, sell in inferno ink, and trade in the blackfallow ink for ink of the sea; then make northrend glyphs. If there are other cheap herbs I make a bunch of minor gylphs. I only make the common glyphs if I'm sitting on too much ink and need bank space or something (they sell for squat).

How the hell do you know what glyphs are common and not? I've got a production menu as long as I don't know what.

Also, Archimonde is owning my *** right now.

It only gets worse too... Smiley: lol

If it's on this list, or this one, or this one you'll likely get more for it. Anything you learn from the trainer is a gold sink.

Really any minor glyph or something made with ink of the sea if you're feeling lazy and don't want to read lots. Don't know how bad your server is, but making ones from those lists is the most profitable for me at least. Smiley: smile

It wouldn't hurt to pay attention to what's FotM across all classes, too.

But, seriously, Blizz really screwed up with Inscription. Making a profession that can only provide players with something once? Who thought that was a good idea? Sales were bad enough in Wrath... I mean, imagine if a player only got the benefits of a flask once and then they were permanent?

That was my thought as well, Digg, but people seem to be throwing away characters like candy at Hallow's End (get it?).

Maz: I'll trade your scribe market for mine. 250g for a L25 Prime glyph is ******* stupid.

Seller's market for the win/lose.

But yeah, glyphs on Kazzak-EU are so cheap right now, I actually bought some glyphs off the AH instead of going through the trouble of getting mats and making them myself.

WoW's market is just so f*cked right now. They need to make some big changes to it.

As much as I love them, they should really break Auction addons. After that, they need to vastly reduce the number of mats that you get from a node, and probably reduce the frequency of those nodes as well.

They also need to look hard at the purpose of professions. Because, right now, only enchanting really seems legitimate. Alchemy is sorta that case too, but less so, since people only really buy one product from it.

What has this game turned into?

About the parental leave thing: It's 10 months for one parent, 2 for the other in Germany. My brother earns enough that he can live comfortably off working 10 hours a week and his wife just works to keep busy, so they worked a lot less when their first child was under 3; I don't know about this one, I suspect they're busy building their hippy commune or something.

Could have taken 3 months unpaid with each kid, but that was never going to happen. Can't live for 3 months without a paycheck right now. Thankfully I had a ton of stockpiled vacation time and can also do some stuff from home when the kids decide I don't need to sleep at night.

If you think AH add-ons are bad because of the ability to easily undercut what's being listed... that's going to happen with or without AH add-ons. It's annoying watching people list hundreds of singles of item x, y, or z, but an add-on like Auctionator can cut through that pretty quick.

As for nerfing gathering, I think that's a terrible idea. No one wants to spend hours searching for nodes just to make a single recipe. What I would like to see instead is the ability to salvage items that have been crafted. That way, people that are power-leveling their crafting skills won't be dumping tens or hundreds of items on the Ah for less-than cost.

I was surprised at the vast differences between servers myself. Some of the older ones have a good number of people at/near the gold cap. Then you mix in newer ones where people are just running around with what they have from quests. There's such a variety from place to place. Markets on smaller servers can be so easily dominated/manipulated by a couple of people with a lot of gold.

All that being said I suppose it's nice the different professions aren't all that useful really. As much fun as it would be to make relevant gear on a toon (for example), I can't imagine that'd be good for the game at the moment. When it comes down to it, sometimes it seems people just have various ways to get their relevant +stat boost at end-game.

Then again, it's a game some people have been playing for 7 years mixed with people who started yesterday. I'd be surprised if there was a way to balance that well. After a while some people just get good enough at manipulating the system that nothing short of a complete overhaul of the game would level the playing field again.

In Europe, you cannot stockpile vacation time. You have to take your 3-6 weeks for the year in that financial year.

The 10+2 month parental leave is payed, btw.

My employer lets me stockpile up to 240 hours (it's earned bi-weekly), anything after that gets lost. I was bumping up against the cap when the first was born, so that was a nice break. Not so lucky with the second, but it's funny how you get used to not sleeping. Though a couple of months of 'up until 4am' then off to work at 9am killed me off.

Sigh, it really is.

And what kills me is the social conservative base that goes along with the political/economic conservative base, who simultaneously make it impossible for people to stay at home with their children AND blame them for not being able to.

But if the woman DOES stay at home, then people accuse her of being lazy and failing to add a second income to her household.

It kills me that it's nearly impossible for men to be the primary homemaker in our culture without them appearing "soft."

I hate that every single commercial you see for cleaning supplies on television is specifically targeting women. Hell, I was SHOCKED the other day when there was a yogurt add the other day in which a kid's father was packing his kid's lunch. And that's pathetic.

/sigh

And these are the kinds of things I don't even need to deal with, since I'm not a woman. And that's before you factor in how much heteronormative social structures irritate me to begin with...

...

ANYWAY.

In other news, I'm looking into living in France next year.

Why France? Just north of France is Belgium which is probably the funniest country ever.
And there's also the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark if you want to live in one of the three countries that are most accepting of gay people. Smiley: nod

I'll be taking a gap year while I pondering if I want to apply to grad school. I'll need to gain proficiency in 2 more languages in that period, one of which will be French (and the other will likely be Italian). So It'll be useful to be in one of those two nations. And I would prefer France.

Plus, I would most likely be going by getting certified to teach English (and the company would place me in a job). Easier to do in France.
