I asked a knowledgeable person for advice and he said wearing my kameez should be fine, even though the sleeves are a bit too short for the occasion. Technically most of my clothes are islamically okay, but damn, I worry about this. I never worry about what to wear anywhere except for scheduling which days of the week to wear said kameez without appearing to wear it constantly or wearing it in the lab.
To be honest, about half the females our age would be much better off having their clothing options dictated by someone rather than wearing what they choose. So many horrible fashion choices.
The thing is, they did this in communism and when communism ended everyone was left without any sense for fashion. At least Muslims have enough options to learn how to choose.
