***** beer, real men drink whisky. There's a bottle of
Aberlour with my name on it downstairs, but it's still a little too early to be drinking something that heavy going.
It was my birthday last week so I decided to try some different whiskey/bourbon/scotch. I settled on a bottle of
Evan Williams Single Barrel, bottled on 11-15-2000, so almost a full 11 year old Kentucky bourbon.
It was gone in about 3 days. I'm so happy I've fully developed my pallet to handle whiskey on the rocks.
As for Beer drinking, now now. Everyone loves a good beer, especially men. My personal favorites are
St. Rogue's Red and
Rogue's Dead Guy Ale. I've also pulled my wife away from the American Light Beer and into the world of craft brewing. So far I've gotten her to enjoy Harp Lager, which is definitely a step forward from Mich Golden.
I had a 700ml bottle of Glenfiddich last week at some point, and I had the whole thing to myself, as Canadians don't seem to be able to drink Whisky (At least, the ones I know can't). I bought a smaller bottle of Aberlour, because I don't think my liver can handle that much in one go again.
I'd be drinking it right now, if I wasn't doing some common sense training tomorrow for work at 8am.
I just can't get into beer, it all tastes the same to me. There's some minor differences between the pishwater that I usually drink, and the stuff I've tried that Aeth recommended.
Also: Looking at that bottle of bourbon really annoys me. I hate it when Americans attach the Whisky/Whiskey name to
stuff that's actually bourbon.
