This is a crazy situation, but I need help.
I dated this girl several years ago, and we had to break up due to a list of reasons. It was a mutual break up, and we tried to stay friends, but it was way too difficult for the both of us to do so because we believed we were perfect for each other in every way possible and we couldn't be just friends. So we went our separate ways and dated other people. In fact, I got married and have a daughter. I kept comparing every girl I dated, and recently even my wife, to this girl. It always feel awkward, like they're all wrong to be with.
So I started talking to her again a couple of weeks ago and I told her about the situation and she said it was the same for her. We can't keep out of each others minds. She told me that right now she's staying single for now because she doesn't want to be hurt by any more guys. I asked her if she wanted to try being friends again and she said "That would be the absolute best thing ever!"
We hung out a couple of days ago at the lake, as friends. I don't want to ruin anything between us because I really want her in my life, even if it's just as friends. All I want to do is see her happy, even if I'm miserable. After about three years of not dating her, I can honestly say I still love her, just because of how perfect we are for each other.
So my question is: Should I buy Weird Al's new album, Alpocalypse?
