I know what you mean, you're referring to the gameplay, but Assassin's Creed was a pretty revolutionizing game in many areas. The graphics, the scale, the historical accuracy as well as, heh, the gameplay. Sure, riding around on a horse
with a bow and arrow got boring in the long run, as did killing a million soldiers in one-on-one combat, but the game in its entirety was EPIC.
Also, Ezio is badass, but he's got nothing on Altaïr. The only reason I'd give AC2 and ACB more credit is because I've learned a lot of Italian foul language through those games. Being able to cuss at large, bald men with tattoos in Italian prevents oneself from dying an early death. Figlio d'un cane!
