It's not original but Schödinger's Cat is brilliant.
Also, no idea.

They're gonna grow up to have 6 kids and be miserable together. IT'S SO ROMANTIC!

At least they'll get divorced by the time they are 18.

That was so cute! :D I thought it was funny that their moms were yelling at them. It's just a little peck, it's not going to hurt anything. If there had been a tongue, I could understand their concern. =x

Her voice makes me want to wring her neck to make it stop.

[EDIT]

I'm on #6, and Miley is still the worst.

[EDIT2]

Okay, Casey Abrams is at least as bad. He's at least faithful to the original. He just doesn't have a voice I want to listen to.

[EDIT3]

Weird. I'm liking those who don't try to sing like Cobain more. Probably because I can't help comparing those that do to the original, and they just aren't even on the same level.

Let's just put it out there--no one should ever cover this song.

Improved that for ya. Smiley: wink

And maybe it's just because it's the song that broke an impressionable teen out of country music and into grunge/alternative/metal/etc back when; but I'm not sure I can really ever get into anyone's remake. Smiley: rolleyes

Edit:

Precisely.

Of course, now I'm listening to the original.

I miss the 90s. :( I was super young when this came out, but I had 3 older siblings (and all of us are 4 years apart from each other). So I was indoctrinated into grunge regardless.

I think that, almost as a rule, the only successful covers completely let go of the original artist's context and transplant the song root and branch - Tom Jones covering Prince's "Kiss" or Devo with Hendrix's "Are You Experienced".

Yeah, I've run into some remakes I like, this and this come to mind.

But seriously...

Pretty much they do a lot of that.

Oh and nostalgic 90's contributions: this & this.

I like the Moulin Rouge cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." =x It's definitely not a good cover, but it's funny and it fits.

Now if you want to hear a good Nirvana cover, check out this Evanescence cover of "Heart Shaped Box." They make it their own, with their style and don't try to copy Nirvana. Plus Evanescence is awesome in general.

I really need to get back on a regular sleep schedule again. It's 5:30am and I don't even feel tired. Of course sleeping in until 2pm will do that to you... At least I did something productive though, my chemise for SCA events is about half done with being altered. I still need to fix the back and sew sleeves back on it.

The recipe shouldn't be hard Aethien, just do one thing at a time. Make just the steak, or just the potatoes.

All you do for the steak is put a rub on it and then fry it in butter.

Been going to bed at 6 AM and waking up around 2 PM for the last couple of days weeks? It's hard to tell when you don't keep track of time.

~0:00-7:30ish on night before I have to go to school, about 2-3 hours later for other nights. Another 2-3 hours later on long periods where I don't have to wake up early. I am nocturnal. :3
