You could combine the two, the hookup attachment has tabs for a strap.

The BlackRapid RS-7 does look cool though.
Only I don't see any added value from the clip. I mean, the pic the website shows with the clip attached to the front of a backpack is cute and all but I really don't want a heavy DSLR hanging there.
And if you're going to hang it on your belt, why not use a shoulder strap instead? It's going to do the same only better (and when your camera is hanging from a shoulder strap it won't be trying to pull down your pants).

Edit: I don't have anything against this product, it's probably really useful for someone with a lighter camera who just wants one thing that can be used to clip your camera onto whatever but I want something designed specifically for what I need it to do and I don't care about the rest.

I think for me the main advantage is that I don't think a shoulder strap would work very well when hiking with a big backpack, but having something that can clip to the backpack would be golden. You're totally right in that it completely depends on what you're doing, I think if you just had the camera your strap solution would be better.

Oh, and It's always nice to get critical feedback, because I don't like just buying things and missing a potentially huge flaw Smiley: grin

Speaking of funny baby names... my parents always told me growing up that my dad wanted to name me Abalognia Lobsteria because he loved both of those seafoods so much. For a long time I actually liked that idea, because I always could have gone by Abby for short. Kids are funny, it doesn't matter what you name them, they're going to go through a period where they hate their name. I did at least, and I knew a few friends who felt the same way.

Didn't we have a name suggestion thread for you a while back protein? What did you end up naming your daughter, I forget.

I'd still prefer the shoulder strap since having the camera on my shoulder looks like the most uncomfortable thing ever.

Other than the name 'Euro' being absolutely horrible considering the numerous ways to pronounce it, we're not big fans of giving up a part of our culture and nationality in the name of shared currency.

I imagine they are highly functioning, even while drunk. I mean, Denmark manages to have an economy such that it can justify a currency in the first place.

My last roommate finally gave me his rent money today. Normally he writes a check and puts something funny, usually dirty, in the memo section.

This time he gave me rent in all one dollar bills...

Hey, that makes trips to the strip club more convenient though, right?

Maz, I watched the Canadian strike episode of South Park last night and thought of you when the Danes came out of the word work and started migrating to the US wanting to take their place. =x

We have decided we want the surprise when the baby is born. Boy or Girl, I am pushing for the name Slartibartfast but my wife doesn't seem keen. Smiley: grin

Rare, good choice on keeping it a surprise. I always felt like it was cheating or somehow not right to know beforehand and much more exciting not to know.

And Protein, we can expect to get beschuit met muisjes from you soon then? Smiley: smile
#5720 May 06 2011 at 3:26 AM Rating: Good
I suppose it is kind of "ruining the surprise," but I want to know ahead of time when I start having kids. Although, I only want two kids, and I'd prefer to have one boy and one girl (definitely want at least one girl). Hell, if I could afford to at the time, I'd do the artificial insemination thing purposefully so I could make sure I was having one gender or the other with my second child.
#5721 May 06 2011 at 4:25 AM Rating: Good
I really should know better than to look at people's facebook pages from my high school by now... Stumbled across one of the more successful classmates of mine who is now a successful real estate agent in Santa Cruz and has an adorable wife. I love J a lot, I'm just frustrated by our situation and it makes me wish I was with someone who could take care of me. Not that I want to be a housewife, because I totally don't. I just don't like the pressure of having to be the bread winner when I graduate, and living off of unemployment checks sucks balls. I don't want to be rich, I just want to live comfortably so money isn't such a huge stress.

It could be just me, but what does it matter what gender the child is?
Especially artificial insemination so you can decide what gender your child will be just seems absurd to me.

On an unrelated sidenote, Protein's duckling pic made me think of my swan pic and I don't think I've posted that here yet so here it is:

It's hard to explain. Both J and I really want a daughter. He wants one because he really doesn't like men, and he wants a daughter to spoil rotten and treat like a princess. I want one because, well I suppose it's partly due to my feminist ideals. I do want a son too though. I just want a daughter a bit more.

This track is pretty awesome.

Give it about 35 seconds before you close it down.

Are you dating a closet transwoman?

He's probably gonna turn out to be if you guys move to Edinburgh. Edinburgh (or a certain person there) has that effect on people.

Maz, what kind of crazy hairbrush do you have? I bought the cheapest one that won't break on my crazy amounts of hair; I did the same a few weeks ago in Nottingham and even went for the Irn Bru coloured one (hey, I was delirious!), and it was £1.80 or something.

Also, swans are scary. But I like how you can see the pupil.
