We have a good bus system out here so I either walk or take the bus where ever I go.

As a side note I know a good amount of people that have moved to foreign countries/across this country with out going there first.

The NYC subway is one of the worst run, most insecure underground transport systems in the developed world.

Most people that hate the bus either came from somewhere that had a better mass transit system or were used to driving everywhere.

My bus is late everyday. Expect those days when it isn't; those really throw people for a loop. Suddenly the bus is half empty as once it gets 'on time' people aren't at the stops, so it isn't stopping and stays 'on time' which is early for everyone who's used to it being 5+ minutes late. One of those snowball things, but it means I get a seat. Smiley: thumbsup

I like the tram better. It leaves like every 5 minutes, makes planning stuff easier.

Yeah, I figured that much. Public transport just isn't that interesting to talk about though sO I hoped to derail this to something more interesting. Smiley: tongue

The bus being early will cause you to be later than the bus running late.

I don't see why people complain so much about the trains here so much. 99% of the times I have used a train they have been on time, and I used to travel a lot by train when I lived in the capital area, only about 10 minutes from Helsinki.
Sure, they were late sometimes, but very rarely.
But I remember this one time, back in the day when I was on my way to work in the morning. Work started at 6, so I had to be at the trainstation at about 5:30 or so, and it was midwinter then so it was absolutely freezing, and the trains were late by two hours and no shops or anything were open at that time, so I couldn't go warm myself up anywhere. Not fun.

And on an unrelated note, I've been listening to Alice Cooper all day.
Feed My Frankenstein somehow just got better that I found out Nikki Sixx played bass in it. Aaand of course it's awesome that it was in Wayne's world aswell, which is one of the best movies ever.

Edit* And Slash in Vengeance Is Mine!

And yet on another note, I would kill for the old Guns n' roses to do a reunion tour.
Or better yet, someone build me a timemachine, please?

<3 Alice Cooper. He's probably the best lyricist ever.
And I don't see a GnR reunion happening until Axl stops being ****** up in the head.

Oh, and do you have Slash's solo album?

True that. He is one of my favourite vocalists/songwriters of all time, but the problem is that he's kind of a ****. but I understand he has bipolar disorder, so some of that can be blamed on that.

I has it! My favourite it either Nothing to Say (Gotta love M. Shadows too. I'm a big A7x fan. At first when I started listening to them it took a while to get used to his voice, but now I love it), Promise (with Chris Cornell, enough said. I really think Slash should've asked him to tour with him instead of Myles Kennedy. Not that there's anything wrong with him though.) or Dr. Alibi (with Lemmy).

Subways in Brazil are mostly non-existant. The cities where they do exist, like Rio and Sao Paulo, they are almost always late and hideously full. I mean, in Sao Paulo you can go to most places in the main areas, but you cant go to most of the city. In Rio, you can go to just a few places. In all other cities, Subway is pretty much non-existant.
And then, we have busses. They are awfull. We do have bus to everywhere and anywhere you might want to go, but they are noisy, smelly, dirty and usually full of people standing because the bus is full. Oh, and there isnt something like planned time. You just wait in a bus stop and hope for the bus you are waiting to not take too long to get in there. But there isn't a way to know when they are coming. It might take 1 minute, it might take 30, it might even take more than an hour. And there's no way to know that.

Oh, well, 3rd world country and all that.

David Gilmour had a big influence on that aswell.

Changing the subject, I bought a bunch of books at the Warhammer World. Already read one of them:

http://www.amazon.com/Ultramarines-Omnibus-Warhammer-40-000/dp/1844164039

It's pretty good, pretty well written. Really liked it.
I'll probably read one of these 2 now:
http://www.amazon.com/Space-Wolf-Omnibus-Spacewolf-Warhammer/dp/1844164578/ref=sr_1_14?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1304538717&sr=1-14

I bought some others besides these, I think it will take me around 3 months to read them all.

Slash is over rated. By a long long way. Great guitarists are guys like Satchmo, Michael Amott, and Mikael Ã…kerfeldt hell, even Pat O'brien is pretty damn good. Slash got carried by Guns and Roses, although I suppose that's just my opinion.

I really like the song with Fergie, she sucks as a hiphop artist but her voice works really well with some mean guitars. I have to give props to Slash for seeing that in her.
The songs with Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Lemmy, Beth Hart and Iggy are awesome as well. All in all I think the album does an amazing job of showing just how important Slash was to GnR.

And I personally just can't stand A7x, I'd dislike them for writing their bandname like that but the music doesn't do anything for me either, the nicknames are worse than those of most black metallers (And that's saying something) and the whole band seems to be more about how they look than the music. Oh, and M. Shadows sounds whiny and annoying.

smunks wrote:

David Gilmour had a big influence on that aswell.
David Gilmour is brilliant and Pink Floyd have made some of the greatest albums known to man. (Wish You Were Here <3)

Edit: Rio, you're wrong about Slash, his solo album proves that he knows how to write great songs and the guitars are great in each song on that album. Although I do rate Mikael Ã…kerfeldt higher because I'm a total Opeth fanboy and because his style of playing is original and innovative and he can switch between calm and full on death metal so easily.

Edit2: Protein, link please. I've once heard a french cover of smells like teen spirit (It was worse than you think it could be) and I want to know if this version is as bad as that.
On the note of bad covers, who was it again that covered Metallica's Nothing Else Matters and made it even softer and weaker than it already was?

Edit3: 15151 posts, yay.

I've heard of that.

On public transport, buses here are always late, the bus I used to take for a night out got cancelled completely just after I moved, and the bus I have to take now if I want a nice night out only runs on weekdays. Yeah. I can't go party in the area without someone to give me a lift.

Nottingham buses and Edinburgh buses are cool. :D

That was pretty bad. Pretty bad because without her voice it was still the same song and even sung that badly it's still a good song.

Edit: The T shirt link works again :3
€17.2429 including shipping... argh, so tempting!

They say:

1. The wait between buses is ridiculously long.
2. That each route has way too many stops attached to it, so the actually rotations take forever and the buses are often full.

They're also both very short girls, so the number of places they can comfortably stand on the bus is low. That's neither here nor there, but it makes packed buses even more annoying for them than they'd be for me.

[EDIT]

Apparently, this was my 8k ding?
