My laptop is overheating badly because I don't have integrated graphics, I'm running a somewhat dodgy GPU driver, and the cooling isn't given a chance to work. Either I have to put it on the bed, or it runs even hotter.

What kind of things are you trying to make it run? Or does it always run that hot?

Why isn't the cooling system on? And have you thought about getting a laptop cooling pad?

The fan is right against the wall. I can't do anything about it because I'm for some unfathomable reason not getting my desk back. It's only gonna be a couple of months like this, so it'll be fine, I guess.

Also, I'm slowly getting to know more and more cool people in Edinburgh. I'm at... 7 or so now.

So a plate full of pasta, broccoli, Gorgonzola sauce and chicken plus a glass of Gulden Draak equals delicious dinner.
I love the recipe (even though there's supposed to be bacon bits in it instead of chicken) and the beer fits with it like it was made for it.

Also, I started re watching The Big Bang Theory because I got bored and they really hadn't figured Sheldon out in the first episode. It's kinda weird to watch.

But I don't feel like posting.

Also, I'm totally surprised that I woke up before my alarm clock went off. I was wondering what that noise was fifteen minutes ago.

I hurt so bad...

I've been doing heavy lifting for the past two days, due to volunteer work, and danced like crazy at a party last night.

My muscles are NOT pleased with me.

On a related note, it's a good thing I'm not a partier, because getting me drunk is clearly not feasible on my wallet.

That's what cheap beer is for Diglett Smiley: lol
You saw what happened to me after a couple of liters of that (and some whisky and other stuff, but still)

I can account for half a handle of smirnoff last night and only had a light buzz. That's on top of a beer (which I did not enjoy--pilsner=yuck), some rum, and wine. I did have some vodka apples, which added some food to the mix, but they had been soaking in the vodka for like 2 hours, so I feel like their kick should have cancelled that out.

I was also dancing all night and didn't have any water (or food other than said apples).

Oh, and the half the handle is what I got myself. Seeing that I wasn't drunk at all, everyone else at the party made it their mission to get me drunk (which evolved down into a mission to get me a good buzz, lol). So I drank quite a bit else that was forced upon me. The only thing I refused to do was chug from the bottle of red wine, because ew... Oh, and the champagne, but that was because I can't chug anything carbonated.

This was also after a day of hard labor.

I was kinda disappointed actually. I really wanted to find out what my limit was. XD

Anyway, cheap beer is disgusting.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that I had some gin too. Don't remember how much though, someone else gave me that drink. :P I was really surprised, though, since I abhor gin+tonics. Turns out, I just hate tonic water, not gin. :P

[EDIT]

I should note, that this isn't really surprising. For one, I'm a moderately large guy. Also, my whole family has a pretty high innate tolerance to alcohol. Well, my last name is Sullivan, so it isn't that surprising...

RJ's sister drank most of my Irn Bru. Mixed it with vodka, too!

But I got a £15 gift card for the local shopping centre, and there's an Iceland there, so I can buy more of it!

Yes, I'm totally planning to spend that money on Irn Bru. Sue me! :P

Waste of gift cards if you ask me.
You could buy photo books or CD's instead!

The only CD I want to buy is probably not available there, and I don't really have a proper CD player anyway; if I can order it there I still might, it's not gonna cost all the money, anyway, apparently.

Books... I've got to get all the books I have in the UK with me (and that's less than 5% of my library) to Scotland by September, and that's too many already.

So I might buy that CD if I can and spend the rest of the money on Irn Bru.

I was thinking of buying some new trousers, but all the cheap clothes stores are outside the shopping centre and while I would like to go clothes shopping at M&S, I can't actually get anything I need there for £15.

You liking to look at pictures is my guess for the preference.

I do, especially when there's musicians and/or naked ladies in the picture.
That's not to say that I don't love books, I've had to carry all my books when I moved 4 weeks ago and my back didn't really appreciate me putting all my books in the same crate. Half of my books are painting/drawing books and encyclopedias though.

I might join one of the naked groups at Beltane next year. I'm definitely going to join the Fire Society, and half the people are naked, anyway, and there's fire fans and stuff and OMG! You guys should come to Edinburgh for Beltane.
