I ran a heroic with a bear tonight. He didn't have much of a problem tanking, except during trash when I was spamming Sunfire and Mushrooms. =x Most tanks have issues holding threat off of me when I do that though. But it's fun! It's kind of sad when I can wait the usual 3 seconds, and put up one DoT and steal threat.

If the bear had rage to start the pull his bad, if not... I can have issues in heroics with rage intake vs output needed to generate threat when starting with minimal rage. As to use both Swipe and Thrash on the pull I'd need 45 rage which is not always the case. Without the combo threat on non-skull/x targets and the need lack of time to get Lacerate spread for Mangle spam things can be dicey.

This is also because heroic mobs are death by 1000 paper cuts so don't generate a lot of rage relative to the damage they can do. The up coming changes will make all of this trivial and not an issue.

I woke up an hour ago, feeling like I got drunk^2 last night. And I did. Turns out the dorm has a bar that sells cheap quality beer.

Also, I have decided to not claim the 100th page as my 30k ding. I erroneously (seriously, that word took some time to type out, I'm still kinda tipsy) thought that people wouldn't suddenly start posting 30+ posts a day here again.

Horse, to be fair, unless you outgear the DPS big time, even a Swipe + Thrash isn't enough to hold aggro against something like Sunfire and Shroom spam. Hell, I've lost aggro to Howling Blast over two Thrash and a Swipe.

The guy who did the math on the Bear AOE threat abilities must have been ******* retarded.

By the way, did I miss something in the patch notes? What I read was that they'll remove the threat modifiers and make stuff hit harder. And Swipe will be spammable again, basically. Which I can't help but laugh at.

Devs: We want to move Bear tanking away from boring, nerfnerf.
Bears: Wait, what? Where did my AOE go?
Devs: Oh, yeah, we also don't want you to spam AOE abilities.
Bears: But Death Knights and Paladins...
Devs: Shush. Also, your survivability is OP in PvP, nerfnerf.
Bears: But we're literally useless now.
Devs: We just don't agree with you there. We don't see the same issues on our side.
Bears: Then your side is retarded.
Devs: No. By the way, you can have back your damage and survivability and spammable AOE.

Am I the only one seeing a complete lack of coordination here? It feels like the guy in charge of everything is randomly replaced every other week. Maybe they're doing rock-scissor-paper twice a month on who gets to be boss.

Bears will get nerfed after 4.1

If I mark a kill target I usually don't have aggro issues if I have some rage to start a trash pull. Of course if I mark a skull and a DPS aggros it I let them die. Usually though if I get enough of the mobs on me I have the rage income to get control back fast and keep it that way.

Lacerate and Mangle spam does work when Thrash/Swipe opener gets mobs on you for a bit. I've also started chain pulling again and stopped using CC. Well at least as much as the healer can take it.

To get away from the silly WoW talk in this thread, I am seriously considering getting this image tattooed on my arm with the text "I have my fears so they don't have me".

Edit: Mazra, idigorry, Kao and others with some form of arachnophobia: you might not want to click that link. It's a macro photo of a spider, a really cool spider called an Orb Weaver and it's only a few mm long in real life but on this photo it probably looks about as close to your worst nightmare as it gets.
