Yeah we did that a few times too, I can sympathize. :-) The second phase definitely takes some coordination. The only thing I can really suggest for that is to have the raid leader or someone else keep an eye on the health of both the bosses, and if one starts to get too far ahead of the other, have everyone switch dps to the higher one until they're even again.

I have the DBM boss health bars displayed front and centre just above my toon. You can really see when you've stuffed up! :) The hard bit is that the earth guy suddenly loses 10% when you break his shield. We get them both to about to about 35% then take air to 29-30 (dots and slow switchers keep him dropping the last little bit) then burn the air guys shield - we often end with air on 24-25 and the earth guy on 19% or so.
The end phase is always really tight though. Don't lust too early in the phase - give everyone 5-10 secs to ramp up their dots, debuffs & bleeds then pop it - the phase is a bit longer than a lust normally. We kite him around the outside of the room. Ranged need to spread as much as possible and melee can often miss the worst of the blue pools by DPS from diagonally behind the boss as much as possible.

Hmm, actually, it's better to dot when Hero/Lust is up. But its good to know about the shield, didnt know that.
Btw, we just freaking one shot him, right now. Working on Chogall, next.

And yeah, you don't want to put DoTs up until BL goes off. Or you want to refresh them after it goes off. DoTs benefit from haste by getting extra tics, but if you get a haste buff while DoTs are already up, the following tics don't benefit from it.

I was, but rbgs loose their flavor when its the same thing over and over again. 4 healer 1 tank 5 dps flag carry games that are massive turtles. Same goes for gilneas.
Plus my guild on andorhal pretty much up and left for rift as well. Seeing as I enjoy rift way more with people I know I'd stick to what works best for me.
That and the whole I don't want to pay for 2 games a month thing helps.

I'm really having fun with rift too. Though I only have got till level 35 on my Pally and level 23 on my Pyro
