Doom, doom to you all!

Or in other words, I bought myself the deluxe edition of Candlemass' landmark 1986 album "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus" which kick started the Doom sub genre.

Blame Aeth.

And Aeth, did you buy a CD? What's this, 1999?

I probably buy about 2 CD's a month, I'd buy more if I could afford it.
Also, I'd buy vinyl but vinyl is even more expensive and I don't have a proper stereo for that. (But I saw Alice In Chain's Dirt album on vinyl today, I almost bought it anyway cause vinyl is <3)

Edit: There's also bonus CD's/DVD's that I like but most importantly artwork. Just look at say Yes' Close to the Edge, Relayer or Fragile albums in that size, it's brilliant.

Also, new CD smell turns me on.

Seriously, it's like the music industry wants more people to pirate. Sorry, but I can't afford $2 a song...

I've paid €25 ($34.73) for 7 songs >.>
But then again, there's only one song on that album that's shorter than 7 minutes, 2 that almost reach 9 and one that lasts 11:26)
It also had a bonus DVD to boot.

But more importantly, that album has given me dozens of hours of entertainment, hell I can listen to that album without doing anything else for a few hours (As long as I have a cup of tea) and the album is still getting better each time I listen to it.
And if you think of it that way, I've paid less than $0.50 an hour for my entertainment which is a lot better than going to the cinema or a concert.

That's what I tell my wife! If I play 30+ hours a week of WoW i'm getting fantastic value! Less than 17c an hour for entertainment!!!

She doesn't see it somehow Smiley: rolleyes

Well buying albums off of iTunes is still pretty inexpensive. Most of them are $10 or $12. If I'm not broke and I can find the albums on there, I'll buy them. Otherwise I pirate them. =x

That's one thing I don't think I'll ever do, paying for a music download. All the cost and no booklet or actual CD.

The cost is a lot lower than a CD, though.

Besides, what can you use the CD for? Other than rip and transfer to the computer anyway. Smiley: tongue

I don't often buy albums at full price so iTunes wouldn't be cheaper, or at least not significantly so.
Also, iTunes doesn't get me booklets with pretty art (Like the art in Mastodon's Crack The Skye that I got with the Candlemass album and a Volbeat album for €25)

And while I currently don't have a proper stereo I will get one again when I can afford it. Playing an actual CD or vinyl through a good stereo is just a much more satisfying experience than pressing play on my PC.

Actually they do come with art and such a lot of the times. The last two albums I bought off of iTunes, AFI's Crash Love and the two disc Lady Gaga album both had pictures with lyrics and such, and the Crash Love one had videos with interviews with the band members and stuff. Evanescence's Open Door has it too.

It would probably happen sooner if you weren't paying 30-60 euro a month for CDs. :P

More like €5-30.

And for me, digital art just doesn't compare to something that I can hold in my hands.

You should put this song as the soundtrack to your video.
