I prefer it just small. It's not hard to read, but it's not super big either.

Back to just small. Even though it looks tiiiiny on this screen.

Overslept, which gives me another hour to write those 1000 words that are still missing from my paper (basically the whole data analysis section). Hah!

Also, whoever figures out first what exactly my signature does (using ghc is allowed) wins an e-hug.

Do I get a hug now? :3

It creates a graph?

I don't know, I just felt like competing with Aeth for that hug.

Is the \ supposed to be in the iterate function?

Also the abs is using a ] to close not a |.

It is a fractal function of some sort, only know that from the mandelbrot funct name. Guessing it gets bigger as it goes not sure, still looking at it but have to go bed now.

It's definitely drawing a graph, though I can't figure what the intended result is or why the mandelbrot statements are in there, as they seem detached from the rest of the equation.

Your bracket logic confuses me so I can't process it. I keep thinking it's missing something.

And wolfram|alpha couldn't read it so I give up :<

Nerd alert! This thread is derailing into boring math stuff again.

The topic is now being changed to optical illusions.

The \ initiates a lambda function. And what... Everything is closed correctly.

It compiles.

It draws the thing that protein posted. Friend of mine is gonna make a T-shirt with it.

Edit: Also, my friend said he'd want to write it in Ruby. Hah.

And this. <3

"Pathological monsters!" cried the terrified mathematician,
"Every one of them is a splinter in my eye!
I hate the Peano Space and the Koch Curve,
I fear the Cantor Ternary Set,
And the Sierpinsky Gasket makes me want to cry!"
And a million miles away, a butterfly flapped its wings
On a cold November day, a man named Benoit Mandelbrot was born.

However I must share half this prestigious reward with my dear friend Mr. Google. He's pretty good at helping me find stuff on the internet.

That sounds like it'd make it harder... Smiley: frown

I googled this much:

Quote:
import Data.Complex mandelbrot a = iterate

and followed the first link.

Then I saw the pretty picture and the code underneath it and thought "hmmm... that looks familiar!" Smiley: smile

also, wtb a [:lightbulb:] smiley

Edit: Of course now that the whole thing is in your sig ZAM lights up when I search it again... Smiley: lol

I prefer to write my stuff in powderblue, but neither of the WoW layouts compliment this color, so I don't.

If you look really carefully, after a few seconds you'll be able to see Toronto's CN Tower in the background.

Haskell is cuter.

But Ruby's all right, I suppose.

protein: This talk is... some Microsoft devs coming to my college to tell us how awesome it is to be able to look at the source code of Microsoft software, I guess. I'm all distracted. Probably gonna boot up ye olde PC and put Damn Vulnerable Linux on it.

Also, roommates want to set up a Windows web server. Time to get myself a grey hat?

I see that picture and all I can think is "That poor girl's back!" I don't get why people go nuts over women with gigantic boobs, I really don't. 9/10 they're saggy and not at all attractive outside of the bra and there's way more flesh there than necessary to play with. Granted I have really small hands, so it doesn't take much to fill them, but a handful is plenty.

Good to see the thread move away from Maths/Programming etc! I've been to Vancouver for a holiday but never made it to Toronto, looks nice!

I glad you mentioned the tower. I don't know if I'd have noticed it. Which is sad, since I'm not a boob guy...

Wow factor indeed. Smiley: lol
