Yes, because the idea is that Ferals will be running with a dispeller whereas Boomkins/Restos, for some reason, won't.

Sounds like a PvP thing.

At least that's what I try and tell myself every time something doesn't really make much sense. I just assume that some really awesome no-life arena fan-boy found some way to be unbeatable with it, so blizzard was forced to nerf to save the game. Or something...

That and it's easier just to blame these things on others. Smiley: grin

Edit: Thought I'd be nice and quote things since this started a new page. (For me at least Smiley: tongue)

Also, why did you guys derail this from beer to druid stuff when there's a load of other threads in which you can whine about the same things?
There's BEER to discuss here.

How 'bout we do both?

I think whoever was running around swinging the nerf bat had a few too many beers.

Sure, but you don't see any of us swinging a nerf bat either. Smiley: wink

Actually I'm not drinking these days anyway, so not having a nerf bat is probably a moot point...

Not that I agree with it, but I think they're thinking that shifting out of roots as an escape mechanic is okay, but it's not okay for a melee class to break roots to, you know, do melee DPS.

The more I think about it, the more I feel we probably had it coming.

Once upon a time Druids had relative little in the way of useable CC, no interrupts, etc. To balance it out we were also immune to a lot of CC stuff as well. Now we have a kick, cyclone, and roots can work indoors.

It was probably inevitable.

*sigh*

Official reason was that Blizzard didn't want any class to hard counter any other class, and Feral Druids could hard counter Frost Mages. Which is completely idiotic as Frost Mages now hard counter Ferals.

They also didn't like how Druids could pewpew on their own without having to rely on backup for healing and such, so they're taking away our self-healing as well.

Unfortunately, while our resilience and mobility was overpowered in PvP, it was what enabled us to work in PvE. They're blindly nerfing the class due to PvP, without looking at the consequences it has in PvE.

Sometimes I wish we'd never started on the whole Arena crap. Just put in some more World PvP and let Rogues two-shot Mages and all that good stuff, like back in Vanilla. I hear the development team has a hard-on for Vanilla content, so why not? Bring back Hillsbrad battles of server-crashing proportions. Get rid of resilience and PvP trinkets and racial nerfs.

Let my Rogue hang out in Blackrock Mountain, doing this to squishies.

Sure, it would kill Arena something fierce, but people should **** off with their eSport Tournaments and leave me with my Massive Multiplayer Online game.

Yeah... taking away feral's ability to break root so they couldn't faceroll frost mages, which enables frost mages to now faceroll ferals, seems counterproductive and redundant to me. Hopefully they'll do something to fix frost mages too. Personally I don't really care about PvP, but I do feel bad for those of you who do.

And on a completely random note, I promised you guys a pic of three girls in a chemise, and I am now delivering. Two of the faces which are not me, have been blurred out with paint to protect the not so innocent. And also so I didn't have to ask them if I could post this here. >:-) As my friend whose camera took this picture said, this is why you don't buy medieval/renaissance garb online. That's a large/extra large. Typically that means a size 12-16 or so? That chemise looks like a size 36 or something...

Also, reading through the official forums, I think I understand this expansion now. Or rather, I understand the reason why this expansion is so awkward in every way.

Apparently - mind you, this is what I've read on the official forums - the development team was replaced somewhere between WOTLK and Cataclysm. New team, new visions, new game.

Explains a whole lot of things, including the recent axing of class defining features.

The same thing happened between BC and Wrath.
At least that's what people said when Naxx, lololAoE and ToC happened.

I'd wager the majority of the development team has been exchanged a lot over the years. Explains the failtastic lore and design choices in The Burning Crusade, the mounted fighting hard-ons in Wrath of the Lich King and now the whole "let's bring the game back to how it never was in the first place" fad of Cataclysm.

It's confusing, seriously.

On another note, I can no successfully tank heroics. Which is pretty awesome, considering I'm only at ilvl 347. Oh snap, someone forgot to buff the threat modifiers on Thrash and Swipe. GG.

Its like how the game was, only they took out all they didn't like and tried to improve on it. Like the old way but totally different? I wasn't here in Vanilla anyway, so I'll have to take your word for it...

But it sounds like why when someone wants to "bring back the 50s" or "return to the 90s" I cringe a little inside... Smiley: wink

Vanilla didn't have heroics, but instead had huge dungeons (Blackrock Depths, Dire Maul, Blackrock Spire) that took forever to complete and had to be run multiple times for the gear you needed. I spent many days farming the bartender in Blackrock Depths for the Shanker, which was, at the time, the best dagger a Rogue could get out of raids.

Instead of epic tier gear, you had the dungeon sets, basically blue tier sets. Later they implemented the epic dungeon set which was obtained by converting your blue dungeon pieces through quests, ranging from simple "hand me your bracer and some ore and I'll fix ya up" to "kill the Baron in Stratholme from this point in less than 45 minutes".

The problem with the regular dungeons in Cataclysm is that they're not worth running. You get equal gear from simply questing, meaning by the time you hit 85, you've got little reason to run those dungeons. So people look to heroics for upgrades, but heroics are a pain in the butt compared to the old Wrath heroics.

Time for music discussion.

What have you guys been listening to lately?
I've been listening, or rather watching, Tool because of the sickening and awesome clips they have.

Just check out some of their video's: Prison Sex, Stinkfist and Sober
It's even their guitarist who animates and directs those videos.

So yeah, yay for psycho video clips Smiley: grin

If you dont remember well, feral druids were useless in Vanilla. So, yeah, the game is getting back to what it was with druids. All we need now is to remove Moonkin form, nerf to resto druids and a buff to Innervate.
There ya go, Vanilla WoW.

Hmmmm.....not sure you are playing the same game as me. In my game ferals are still pretty good and proposed changes haven't actually been tested enough to see how much we lose or gain as yet.

Not sure about tanking, but my feral dps toon is leveling much easier against same-level mobs in than my retadin did at the same place despite being in half LK PvP gear still. Admittedly, this says more about ret than it does about feral, but I'm really not seeing a problem (yet).
