What the hell is that?

Tiling Window Manager. It removes the taskbar and all that stuff and unless you specify it to it doesn't have floating windows like you have with your usual WM. Also, 9 workspaces by default.

My Internets/procrastination workspace right now looks like this.

Also, yay recursion! And googling the time

That looks.... painful to the eye.

But I have lovely terminal windows!

My other workspaces are thematically ordered, like one for Skype, one for linguistics, one for Haskell programming, etc. It's just really useful to be able to look at your work and the reference PDF at the same time, and such. It's how I do it with multi-screen setups, and this allows me to do the same with one screen. Plus, I can click links and irssi stays visible while I read them!
And I still have separate workspaces where I run openbox and terminals. If I ran multiple sessions of xmonad, I could probably have like... 30 screens of tiled windows!

And what would be the point of that?
#4031 Jan 22 2011 at 5:51 AM Rating: Good
Thematically ordered computer usage. Switch between screens, have a completely different task at hand. Multi-window display without distraction unless I switch screens. No clutter in my taskbar.

Do you often have half a million different things open then?
#4033 Jan 22 2011 at 6:42 AM Rating: Good
Browser, Skype windows, 2 instances of irssi, work I'm doing (at the moment that means media player & OOo & LaTeX), ghci and a Haskell reference PDF, terminal window for aptitude and creating files where I need them, terminal window to SSH into the server for my website, Filezilla for GUI access to the server, some random film I'm watching, GUI file manager for when I'm too lazy to do that in the terminal.
Vim (need to upgrade that to macvim, as well!) for html conversion of my code (and random other stuff) on the spot to upload it, and right now I need another instance of vim to note down mechanics stuff to upload to the server.
When I'm not writing in Haskell, I also have a full IDE open for whichever programming language I am using.

Of course, I don't usually have ALL that stuff open at once; right now I'm only running my Internets workspace and my Skype workspace. But I will be opening vim on the third to start my mechanics write-up. And I can have the PDFs with the formulae right next to it in another tile if I want!

Edit: Actually, I do have a workspace open for server access and file moving and such.

You know what's awesome? How easy it is to go from resto to boomkin without any significant gear swap.

Hellboy got banned again after that big movement to give him back his old account? Good gods... I'm rather impressed Psychotic One has managed to pad his post count that much, even with spamming in people's journals.

Just like going from Resto to Feral.

Accidentally healed a regular dungeon in my Feral gear. Noticed two bosses in when I didn't have the mana to heal someone who stood in the fire.

I don't care what the hippies say, rolling Lifebloom with the occasional clearcast Regrowth and Swiftmend is boringly efficient. And then, when the **** hits the fan, boringly efficient turns into frustratingly inefficient.

There is no middle ground, which sucks.

Wild growth, rejuv, swiftment and regrowth will do the job just fine if the **** hits the fan. Or popping tree form, it's only a three minute CD.

I've banished Nourish to the far side of my action bar. It's a weird feeling.

Perhaps in a raid, but I find Regrowth highly inefficient. Even more in Tree as it becomes an instant cast and I'm prone to blow my 85k mana pool in a matter of seconds.

As it stands right now, I don't have the spell power needed to keep a group up through heavy AOE. And taking my focus away from the tank for too long causes Lifebloom to fall off and then things get really bad.

It'll be better once Regrowth also refreshes Lifebloom (and heals for more), but right now, Regrowth and Nourish are only useful as filler spells, using Regrowth with OOC procs to pop Swiftmend and keep the melee DPS alive.

It all feels very clunky compared to the old style, which I'm sure the patch is going to change, so I'll have to wait until then to venture into heroics.

In other news, popping Berserk on a pack of trash mobs gave me 31k DPS. I see why they want to tone down our damage output, however, I also noticed that the threat modifiers on Thrash and Swipe are ridiculous. Hopefully the patch will fix that, though they haven't mentioned it. A flat damage nerf to our abilities will make AOE tanking even harder.

Holy crap that beer hit me hard.
9.5%+ alcohol + so easy to drink (fast) + very little to eat today = tipsy Aeth after one (absolutely delicious) beer.

Kids these days. Can't hold their liquor.

I've been drunk since fifth grade and I'm not even seeing double.

33 cl and it ferments in the bottle so it's probably more than 9.5%.

Also I know Maz, I hang my head in shame.
In my defense, I am tired and I hadn't eaten much yet.

Edit: to be honest, I usually drink Duvel which has 8.5% so I should be used to strong beers, today's beer hit me like a truck though.

I really would like to try Westvleteren 12 sometime.
But given that you can only buy them one crate at a time at the abbey they're brewed (and no more than one crate a month, if you're lucky enough to actually get a crate) or buy them from shops for up to €30/bottle that might have to wait a while.

So moonkins now are the only ones that can break roots, and get a magic damage reduction to boot, in addition to doing awesome DPS?

Resto has the breaking rolled into their specialization.

Ferals are the only ones who can't break it now. Which is fun, being a melee class and all.

So the only ones who can break it are the ones who don't really need to?

Cool.

Yes, because the idea is that Ferals will be running with a dispeller whereas Boomkins/Restos, for some reason, won't.

The logic escapes me.
