Well either that or it was 6:30 in the morning here... Smiley: rolleyes

When you're on an "I'm awesome" streak, don't edit in anything that might invalidate your conclusion.

You can do VP at level 80 if you fly in manually.

First boss you stack on boss, two heal unless the guy is leet. Second boss you rotate to keep everyone upwind. Still clearing to third guy.

316 drops are HAWT.

I made a university an offer to study with them if they let me take the first year exams in summer 2011 and let me enrol in the second year straight away.

They actually said they'd try to make it possible. Lulz.

My FULL title.

Grand Master Alchemist Mazra, Ghost in the Machine.

Blame ZAM for giving me the opportunity.

Anyone else have a smaller forum today? The images on the sides take up over half my screen space now. When did this happen? The forum seemed way bigger yesterday.

Welcome to how the rest of the world has had to endure ZAM since they truly adopted the new moniker.

Xsarus, make them bring back a slate gray skin already Smiley: mad

The old slate grey theme is still around. Just go to theme at the top right and select classic.

Doesn't change the format, though. Just the colors.

Horrible waste of space on both sides endures. But I guess they needed somewhere to put all those extra adverts. The ones they couldn't fit on top of the menu. Smiley: lol

Seriously, though, it looks horrible. The image at the top (Goblin and Worgen) even stops some one or two inches before the page does. I don't know if they expect me to be using a very wide monitor with a low resolution or what.

1920x1200 makes it look like utter sh*te.

Edit: Okay, 'utter ****** was a bite strong. It's not really that bad once you get used to two massive columns of brown on each side of the text frames. I could name other things that need more urgent attention. Like the font in the menu. Bold already, it looks ridiculous.

What? There are extra ads off to the sides now?! When did this happen? What's going on? I'm so confused.

This is just like when I tank: "no, I didn't see that add, sorry." Curse this 1024x1024 itty bitty screen thingy... Smiley: mad

Premium members don't get adverts. Log out and reload the page to view it in its glory.

Turn off AdBlock for the enhanced version.

Edit: I pity the fools using the default layout (www.zam.com). The left and right side blank areas are much larger there, plus the text frame is SCREAMING, EYE-CLAWING WHITE. The kind of white that melts faces and gives your skull a permanent tan.

I'm using zam.com because all the other ones have way too much noise in the sidebars or are awful colors.

Which is what I meant by slate grey skin. You know, the one zam.com used to have.

I'm using the loght brown WoW layout.
But I think ZAM could use some serious restyling.
Maybe a bit more towards Wowhead in looks.

Yeah, won't happen. At least not until they get that idea themselves. Been preaching layout aesthetics for years in the Feedback forum.

Restyling is a lot of work though, I'm currently designing my own website and it's amazing how much you actually need to figure out.

Many internet gurus will claim that light text on a dark background is worse than dark on light. Both are bad if the contrast is too heavy.

Avoid bright colors and very dark colors. You can use them in the layout, as long as they don't interfere with reading the text. ZAM's default layout is like a classic example of bad:

Bright white background
Dark text
Dark "framing" (the site's background)

It's basically messing up your sight as much as possible.

If you go for dark on light, use a thick font. Decreases the amount of background visual "noise".

And remember, the average internet user will give a website eight seconds to catch them before they move on. Smiley: schooled
